Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamison Beulke.
Hi Jamison, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started out at ETS as a collegiate athlete a little over 6 years ago. After my freshman year of collegiate football, a teammate of mine told me to check out ETS if I was serious about taking my development to the next level.
Thankfully, a second ETS opened up in Lakeville and I was able to be the first client there.
From the second I stepped foot in that facility, I knew something was different about ETS. In addition to having an individualized training system designed specifically for my needs, deficiencies, and imbalances, the atmosphere, attention to detail, coaching and culture were unlike anything I had ever experienced. At ETS, we always reference the “ETS Family” and I truly felt that from day one.
Due to my life-changing experience at ETS, I changed career paths, applied for an internship at ETS, and interned all throughout college. I always had aspirations of taking my chance at the league but battled a multitude of concussions in college which sidelined me for a large portion of my collegiate career. That was easily the best thing to happen for me as I learned how to be a better leader, learned how to serve others, and ultimately learned my satisfaction and purpose in life come through providing athletes the tools they need to be successful in their sport, but more importantly in their life.
After graduating, I was given the opportunity to work my way up to a full-time paid position in Lakeville and was fortunate to serve the athletes at Lakeville North and all of the South Metro for two years before accepting a Director of Operations position for ETS Mankato, which we opened in June of 2020.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
There is always some sort of ups and downs with anything in life. For us, the biggest challenges initially were in relation to navigating the unprecedented times during COVID.
However, the athletes, coaches, and parents in the ETS Mankato Family are the most loyal and supportive people you will find, which made for a very smooth welcome to Mankato. Even to this day, I am blown away by the way the Mankato Community has welcomed us with open arms and the way they continue to support our mission.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
ETS Mankato is one of 25 growing ETS locations located throughout the midwest. Our mission is to provide unmatched speed, power, deceleration, energy system development, movement, and performance mastery training for serious athletes who are fully committed to maximizing their genetic physical, and psychological potential. We do this in a challenging, yet uplifting environment that places an equal emphasis on character development with our team of servant leaders.
Every single one of our athletes undergoes a comprehensive Athlete Evaluation to examine any needs, deficiencies, or imbalances our athletes might have. This evaluation consists of our signature Dynamic Warm Up & Movement Prep, a full Movement Screen & Analysis, and Baseline Physical Testing. Based off our findings, the athlete’s training history, the athlete’s sport(s), and the athlete’s goals, we create an individualized training system for him/her to help them take their physical and personal development to the next level.
Regardless of an athlete’s age, sport, or ability, we will always develop, push, love and support our athletes in all they do both inside and outside of our facility through servant leadership. The term “ETS Family” is real to us and we are blessed to serve so many hard-working, dedicated, and remarkable individuals in the Mankato and surrounding communities.
Networking and finding a mentor can have a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
One thing that helped me early in my career was deciding who was in a position that I would like to be in someday and finding a way to get in the same room as them.
Most people are eager to mentor in some capacity so having the confidence to actually reach out and provide value to them along the way is important. As for networking, quality internships, attending continuing education conferences, and general outreach helped me immensely. Thankfully, my internship at ETS prepared me for the next level in my career and I’m fortunate to have an incredible team around me I get to work with on a daily basis.
