Today we’d like to introduce you to Alysha Hovorka.
Hi Alysha, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a Minnesota-based wedding, elopement, and couples photographer. I have always had an eye and love for photography. I had my first camera when I was 3 or 4 years old. I started with the traditional family vacation photos. My love for photography kept growing as I started doing more nature and cityscapes. I eventually tried photographing people.
I have always been surrounded by people that were into photography so I guess you could say I have always had inspiration around me. I eventually started second shooting with another photographer and quickly found my love for weddings! Ever since I started to grow my business and now it has been five years doing what I love professionally!
Working with couples doing weddings, elopements, and engagement sessions! I definitely would not be where I am today without Jesus and the love and support from family, friends, and clients.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Even when doing what you love it’s never always going to be a smooth ride. I have definitely had challenges as growing a business from the ground up is definitely not easy.
You have to grow your clientele and that was definitely not easy in the beginning. So I’d say just growing that clientele and the ideal clients were one of the hardest things to do. And each and every year I keep perfecting the ideal client so I can better my client experience!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I love finding things in a whole new way and finding the beauty in everything. I love capturing all the special moments in people’s lives. I truly think it’s so special when they invite me into something so big and special in their lives that we can forever capture in time for them.
I always make it my personal goal to be there for my clients through every little detail. Whether that would help find vendors for their big day, timeline help and family lists, outfit, and location ideas. I’m here and happy to help with it all. I want the couple’s booking experience to be a friendship, that even after their big day or special occasion, we come out with a lifelong friendship!
What are your plans for the future?
I do have personal goals and goals for my business as well but it’s all on God’s timing and His perfect plan for my business.
Each year I hope to better my client experience even more. I would also like to keep growing the elopement side of my business as I personally think those are so special when it’s just you and the couple and they get to choose whatever they like where ever they like.
I also have some goals for dream venues to have weddings at here in MN and it would be a personal goal to eventually have an elopement in Arizona and Utah!
