Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniela Hoff.
Hi Daniela, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It all started with the desire of helping my mom to sell the things she knits and all the challenges of being at home for my kids. Formerly I studied Architecture and worked as an Architect for 15 years back in my life in Mexico. In 2018 my life flipped upside down and I got married, got pregnant, quit my job, and started a completely new life in Minnesota far from my mom. That was the hardest thing of all those changes.
2018, 2019, and 2020 were 100% about my babies, finding a house, and building my new life far from Mexico, happy but feeling frustrated for not being able to achieve personal things. At the end of 2021, I decided to get things done one way or the other. My mom needed my help and I needed to feel productive and that’s when I decided to do all the paperwork for Pinkgiraffemx to be a real project.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My main problem is having free time to work!! I have two bows, 3 and 4 years and a Stepdaughter who is 12 years old so they are very demanding and some nights my brain doesn’t want to do anything! Starting a business in a place where I don’t know anybody has been also a big challenge.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I feel I am on a journey where I am re-adjusting myself, motherhood changed my priorities. I love the Architectural and Interior Design world but at the same time, I love this new adventure of starting a business. For now, my attention is focused on firing up my art workshops; I think is an excellent way to connect with yourself, connect with new people, or just a great option to build memories with your friends.
The idea of the Art Workshop is to offer a “Pinterest experience” – you know- I lovely setup, great music, something yummy to drink, and all materials ready to be used. I also like to make some time to use my sewing machine to make some handmade personalized products, basically pouches! I am all about pouches!!
They have helped me so much to organize my life with two little kids that I thought would be nice to share this easy tip with other ladies, that’s why I learned to make them, following somehow the Marie Kondo method. I would say people recognize me as a creative person and I take that as a compliment!!
And If I need to be proud of myself for something is the fact that I am not afraid to try new things and I have a high sense of empathy for people so I am always trying to make little things to bring joy to people’s life. That’s how this Pinkgiraffemx project was born. The idea of bringing joy to my mom’s life was my motivation.
