Hidden Gems: Meet Brittney Jackson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittney Jackson.

Hi Brittney, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hi and thank you for the opportunity to share my story with all of you! As a child, I grew up with constant real estate jargon. My grandma was a very successful Realtor/Broker and my  mom has a degree in interior design. Many of my childhood memories consisted of the real estate industry. Whether it was helping out at the community’s parade on the real estate float, Parade of Homes outings, open house conversations or hearing what’s going on in the market. One way or another, it was an inspiring time for me to see how you can grow a successful business. Although I grew up being exposed to the industry, I never imagined I’d build a career in real estate. After college, I started managing a recruitment/staffing agency. I was the branch manager and worked on bringing in a lot of new employees and staffing them within different local organizations. One day, I reached out to a gentleman who worked for a luxury builder and had a wonderful conversation with him. From there, he actually ended up wanting to meet me in person where I then discovered he was hoping to hire me for a sales manager position with this builder. I ended up accepting the job and getting my real estate license. I “closed out” both communities that I worked with this builder. From there, I decided I’d really like to run my own business, but I just had a son and my husband was a stay-at-home dad. It was a big risk. If I was going to start my own business I wanted more knowledge, more understanding of the entire big picture of real estate. I ended up getting my Mortgage License so that I can be more well-rounded over the entire process. I practiced for a year with the intent that after a year I’d go full force into real estate.

After a year in mortgage, I reactivated my real estate license and took off connecting with people and getting involved in the community. I developed a strong passion for being involved in my local community and ultimately built my business around that. I don’t do cold calls. Instead, I am out networking, being a connector, collaborating, and supporting my community. I volunteer my time as the Secretary of the Rotary Club, Chair of the Family Night in the Park, Winterfest Committee Member, Golf Tournament Committee Member, and President of a non-profit organization: Knightly Resources. I sponsor Family Youth Community Connections (FYCC) where I attend all of their events to get involved and interact with the community.

Additionally, I partner with a co-working office space where I co-host real estate networking events to bring real estate industry professionals together in a safe, fun, learning environment. I also give back to the local team sports by sponsoring their teams and supporting the youth within the growing community. In addition to all of this, I’m out working with my clients and helping them reach their goals. I was recognized as the #3 Listing Agent and #4 Buyers Agent for 2022. I was also recognized as the top 10% of Agents worldwide with my past brokerage.

I do all of this with all the help and support of my loving husband/stay-at-home dad who keeps everything moving when I’m running from one thing to the next. We have two boys that have grown a passion for the industry as well, and my son (6 years old) was awarded “future realtor” at our company awards ceremony. He enjoys helping with marketing events and learning the ropes. He is quite the little negotiator!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road by any means, but it has been my road and my journey that has led me to where I am today for my new beginning. New Doors. New Beginnings. was developed because I want everyone to have their dreams come true just like my family’s has over the years. We had many challenges with no sales or money coming in from time to time, real estate is a roller coaster. The market with COVID although it was my top-selling year, it was also the most challenging mentally for me.

When my clients weren’t winning their offers, I was becoming emotionally defeated with them. I wanted it just as bad or sometimes more than them. I wanted their dreams to come true, and it was painful doing everything possible to get them there but still felt like I failed. I am a creative- think-outside-the-box agent, obviously following guidelines, and my fiduciary duties, so that was a challenging time.

Other than that, I feel like running a business and being a mom is challenging. My boys and my husband are the reasons why I wake up empowered to hustle every day. When business picked up as fast as it did, it was hard to not see my boys or my husband as much.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Absolutely, and thank you- I am the owner of New Doors. New Beginnings. I’m a Licensed Realtor and Team Leader that is Brokered by eXp Realty.

I’ve built my business by networking and referrals. New Doors. New Beginnings. recently expanded and became a Team where we are actively seeking out Real Estate Talent and have brought in new team members and Realtors.

We specialize in helping our clients open New Doors. New Beginnings. by maximizing your results while creating smiles that move you. We represent both Buyers and Sellers with their real estate transactions. I am Relocation Certified, Mentor Program Certified, Senior Real Estate Specialist, New Home Sale Specialist, First Time Home Buyer Specialist, etc. My goal is to be your Realtor Resource for all of Life’s Real Estate Moments. I’ve helped many clients navigate divorce situations, short sales, first-time home buying, move-up sales, and commercial sales, etc.

We work effortlessly to be your real estate expert and pride ourselves in honesty, transparency, and diligence. Our business model is unique in that we take the client from start to finish by breaking it down into small segments and having a powerhouse of a team to seamlessly guide the client through proper milestones. We are full service and are again there as a resource for the client. We don’t just list the property and wait for the sale, but we take strategic measures to ensure the property sells in the timeline our client’s goals align with.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The team will continue to grow in strength and numbers. By no means are we “perfect” and we are always open to feedback for more growth both professionally and personally.

More people, more outreach to help support the community, and hopefully one day my boys making their dream of being pictured next to me a reality. Although, my boy’s dreams of being Realtors is closer to 12-14 year goals, if not longer! We are in it for the long haul with many more New Beginnings to come.
