Today we’d like to introduce you to Lavern Jamison.
Hi Lavern, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was inspired to get into the food industry because I love great quality food. I also wanted to build something sustainable. That can last over generations for my family.
My mobile restaurant is called Jamison’s Hibachi Kitchen we’ve been established for three years now. My childhood was fun but it was also a lot of lessons learned. I’ve had ups and downs, but mostly growth in development. We separate ourselves from other restaurants by our quality of food & putting a mix of diverse cultural foods. Our prices are affordable & we have great hospitality.
Our customers are our number one priority. We are very involved in the community. You will be seeing us at many local events this year. We have served a variety of people with different backgrounds in life and economic differences. Police officers, Minneapolis public schools, firefighters, etc.
We also have been thrilled to work with some large events & celebrities such as Boosie, Tyler Johnson, The Black History Month Fair, & Key Glock entourage from P.R.E. We give back to the community in various ways by donating to the Salvation Army & good wills. We are active in our community and we support our friends & family. Jamison Hibachi Kitchen is a family-owned business owned by Lavern Jamison and his wife Janell Jamison. In the next 5 years, I see us operating on a higher level getting a restaurant & hopefully getting into the MN State Fair. We’re aiming for the moon!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’ve come across a lot of challenges but I never let it deter me from growing. Through all the ups and downs perseverance was my game plan “Turn a loss into a lesson”.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are black-owned we specialize in Hibachi. We are also highly known for our Birria tacos and famous chicken wings. We separate ourselves from other restaurants by our quality of food & putting a mix of diverse cultural foods.
Our prices are affordable & we have great hospitality. Our customers are our number one priority.
So maybe we end by discussing what matters most to you and why?
Quality over quantity because without happy customers, we wouldn’t be here.
