Conversations with Joan Navarre

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joan Navarre.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Triangle Art & Antiques–Main Street of Menomonie, WI–opened its doors ten years ago.

I live above my shop, and I am committed to building a strong, diverse, and welcoming Main Street. The art and antiques available in my store reflect my firm belief that human beings should be surrounded by Beauty.

The time and effort I have spent revitalizing and restoring the historic Triangle Building have made Triangle Art & Antiques not only a source of community pride but also a destination for people visiting our community.

My service on the Board of Directors of the (then) Main Street of Menomonie program, tireless support of community programs and charities, and pioneering training partnerships with the University of Wisconsin-Stout have been an asset and an inspiration to our community.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Entrepreneur, with a love of art, antiques, and beauty.

An entrepreneur who loves stories! I am a Professor of English & Film Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. I teach during the week and open my shop on the weekend (Saturday).

Every item in my shop has been hand-picked by me. I enjoy traveling to England (London) and Scotland (Edinburgh) as well as the American Southwest (Arizona). When I travel, I look for unique items. I specialize in small items as my shop is small.

I create window displays that aim to engage, uplift, and delight. Every item has a story to tell.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Serendipity matters.
