Today we’d like to introduce you to Catherine Brinker.

Catherine Brinker

Hi Catherine, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I first fell in love with photography as a child while using my mom’s point-and-shoot camera. In high school, I made greeting cards out of my photographs to earn money to buy my first DSLR camera. I began photographing all that I could, from nature to my dog to friends and family.

My family traveled a lot around the United States, I would capture my favorite cup of coffee and coffee shop in each new city. My passion grew from there as I started second shooting for other photographers. While studying art at college, I learned new skills to develop my product photography.

All of this has led me to where I am today. I’m inspired by my travels and visiting new restaurants and art museums.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My journey has had its share of ups and downs. Running a small business often means wearing multiple hats. Along with photographing and editing, I also handle marketing, customer communication, and financial management.

There is an art to balancing all these tasks. Being a photographer and small business owner has also been so rewarding. Overcoming these struggles has allowed me to grow both professionally and personally. The satisfaction of seeing my work appreciated by clients makes it all worthwhile.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a photographer specializing in product photography and content creation. I help brands create strategic content for their products. I thoroughly enjoy every step of the process, starting from the initial meeting with new clients.

Understanding their brand, their goals, and their target audience allows me to tailor my approach and deliver images that align with their vision. Whether it’s brainstorming concepts, creating mood boards, or exploring different locations, I thrive on the creative process of translating a brand’s message into visual concepts.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
To enjoy every day and not take anything for granted. Because you’ll never know what will happen next.
