Hi Mai, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always loved decorating or styling my home. Here and there, I’d post it on my social media and would always get the same questions from my friends and family, “Why don’t you make it a career? You’re so good!” Years passed, and I felt like I was in a slump with my job.
One night, I drew up my goals and dreams, woke up the next day, and had a talk with my husband. It was kind of a “now or never” moment. That night, I registered my business. This coming February will be the first anniversary of the night I became a business. It’s been a huge learning experience in this one year, and I’m so excited to see what next year will bring for Dear M Staging & Co!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a rough road, to be honest. When you start a business and try to build it from the very bottom up, nothing is easy.
There are a lot of mistakes made and lessons learned. And we’re still learning! There are new struggles every day, and as a brand-new business, I take it as a huge learning curve. From every paperwork about the business to satisfying the clients, we struggle.

We are a home staging and interior styling/decorating company. We work with clients who are looking to sell their homes but need a little help in “jazzing” it up to meet the eyes of potential buyers. We also work with staging Airbnb’s and short-term rental properties, and with families that need help in simply interior decorating their spaces to fit the aesthetics and style of their liking.
What sets us apart from others is that we take care of our client’s home as if it were our own home. Home should be a place to de-stress – a safe haven. We want every client to walk into their home and feel the love and peace that’s been put into it from us and them.
We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I’d say that one thing most people don’t know about our business is that we are a two-man show. It’s just my husband and I.
From lifting every piece of furniture whether heavy or light, to carrying large decor pieces, it’s just the two of us. Clients would offer help once they see that it’s just two people. It’s my goal to achieve to bring in help when we get there.
