Hi Alicia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, my name is Alicia Wilson, I am the Owner of BabyNguru 24-hour Newborn Services also known as Babynurseguru. I am originally from Trinidad and Tobago and have resided in Brooklyn New York for the past 30 years
I have a love for children and came from a huge family. My father is the first of 12 children. I am the 1st grandchild of 34 grandchildren. In the Caribbean, the Postpartum support is a community. Grandparents, Family, friends, and your neighbors.
Right out of high school, I had to figure out my path in this life. I was drawn to children and I worked as a nanny and realized not only did I love children but was very drawn to Newborns. My Mother in the early 90’s sent me to be trained as a Babynurse where I was trained in caring for Newborns all the do’s and don’ts, CPR, and First Aid. The Term Babynurse has been changed to Newborn Care Specialists. To get my feet in the door I worked through an agency for 6months and then branched out on my own.
As a Newborn Care Specialist, I help expecting, new and parents with multiple children transition through the post-partum stage which is very different. Transitioning from no baby to I am responsible for a new soul a new life is scary for some parents as they are unaware of what to do or may not have any family near to assist. Sleep Deprivation is serious and newparents don’t know what to expect but quickly learn it is different from any job in this world
I spent almost 28 years rotating through parent’s groups in New York and I Specialized in Twins and Triplets. I also worked with families with single babies.
As a Newborn Care Specialists, I provide Services For 24hrs (live with the family), 12 and 10hr shifts. I work with all walks of life including Single parents by choice and LGBTQIA+ community. The postpartum era is rough but should not be traumatic. I Teach parents how to care for their babies, help them understand them, assist with breastfeeding and also get them on schedules and routines which allows the babies to naturally sleep through the night and give parents their much-needed rest so that they can function daily.
After almost 30 years in the industry, I cannot do all the babies in New York and Metropolitan Area by myself so I have a team of qualified Ncs that assists me with families throughout the United States.
Additionally, I received guidance from former Clients encouraging me to expand my business. One client showed support by including me in an article with her family in the New York Post in 2013, Another Client was so happy with my work with her twins she gifted me my website and my attorney is a twin client.
So, in return, I paid it forward in continuing my services to assist Expecting, new parents, and 2nd time parents.

Babynguru supplies expecting and new parents and 2nd ,3rd 4th parents with Newborn Care Specialists. We specialize in Twins and Triplets but also work with single babies. We work with preemies, nicu babies monitors and many more. We also specialize in Sleep Conditioning and Training. Both virtually and in person. Parents consult with me personally so I hear their needs and match them with a great fit. We are prebooked within the first trimester by Clients.
What sets me apart is I love what I do… I consider myself an angel on earth getting to share new souls and new life with families of all races. Also being a baby’s first friend and and helping families on their journey.
