Today we’d like to introduce you to Roxanne Bartsh.
Hi Roxanne, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I started my business in 2007. My husband and I had purchased a historic commercial building in Zumbrota a few years prior and had been busy restoring/bringing the building back to its original charm. We were getting ready to find new tenants for the commercial space. A boutique could be successful. After some thought and encouragement from my husband, I decided to take the plunge and give it a go. I had been an administrator for the Wabasha County Probation Department for many years and was ready for a change.
It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The biggest challenge was COVID. I was closed for a few months and did launch an online store during this time. The support of our loyal customers got us through this difficult challenge.
As you know, we’re big fans of Wild Ginger Boutique. What can you tell our readers, who might need to be more familiar with the brand?
Wild Ginger is a women’s boutique in Zumbrota, MN. We pride ourselves on our unique quality clothing and accessories. We should know as much as possible about the fabric, how and where it is manufactured, etc. Our items are made in the USA or from fair trade factories. Our customer service also sets us apart from other stores. We create a friendly, low-pressure shopping experience. We aim to ensure the customer looks great and is happy with their purchase. If they look good, we look good. Our store has an excellent customer base filled with laughter, stories, and great memories. We are also very fortunate to have several other great retail stores in Zumbrota. The variety of unique stores has made Zumbrota a shopping destination in recent years. Our retail community has formed an Independent Business Alliance. We support each other and plan several events throughout the year.
What are your plans for the future?
No significant changes are planned for us.
