Today we’d like to introduce you to Talon Frazier.
Hi Talon, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a young, hardworking, thrill-seeking, and motivated African American man in our society, I always wanted to leave a long-lasting imprint, not just in my community but all over the world. My primary mission is to inspire, encourage, and bring hope and understanding to individuals who wish more for their lives and any endeavors that life’s journey grants them.
Moreover, I want to inspire others to have no fear and take full advantage of the opportunity they get when finding their true passion (career). I am a true entrepreneur at heart. However, my true passion is creating stories, shows, and anything that brings my thoughts and dreams to life. This means I am a radio personality with my shows for two networks in Minnesota. I set out to enrich the listeners with more than just different genres of music but to enlighten them on life, history, and great touching stories (Interviews) and to keep them informed with excellent material that will help motivate and hopefully fuel them into another great way of thinking—the positive way of thinking about life. I wanted to challenge the listeners to think outside the box and believe in themselves, their skills, and their abilities. After finding my semi-newer passion to help bring people worldwide and my community together, I found another love: creating visual art, such as directing and producing my television show on a local network, which will air later this year.
I am very excited and grateful for the opportunity to reach more audiences and help impact the viewers. I pray they enjoy my unique, fun, entertaining, and informal content. Everything takes time, patience, dedication, and, most importantly, motivation not to settle or be mediocre but to strive every day to be the best you can be with the tools you are blessed to obtain. I am still climbing and have much more to accomplish in my short career, but it is bright, and I am more than excited to pursue my life aspirations.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
If trying to push the envelope and reach your dreams was easy, every person in the world would have accomplished that. It’s hard work, late nights and early mornings. Meetings, etc., and the worst to me is the time you miss when it comes to loved ones or just having fun outside your career realm. There are ups and downs, trials and tribulations, but it’s how you look at them. You have to constantly remind yourself that you are putting this type of effort and dedication into your dreams so not only can you appreciate the fruits of the labor but the ones who have had to sacrifice with you, such as your children and significant others, can also to be proud and enjoy your success as well. I believe in no regrets in life. It’s all in the journey. Your path is already written, and it’s up to you not to let anything compromise your happiness and goals when trying to obtain success. I never want to be the person who looks back once I have grown old and maturated. I don’t want to look back and wish I could have done more when it came to fighting for my dreams. As you set out on that road to success, you must lose certain things to gain what you want. You will have to sacrifice, which may be easier said than done, which can ultimately pose an internal struggle or sense of survival remorse. You have to be content with knowing that you have to give it your all with the opportunity & time you are given.
I appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Producer/ Director/ Radio Personality and Entrepreneur. I go by the Talon Frazier; however, also known as Tal The Tycoon, my entertainment name, I host radio shows on two separate networks, In Minneapolis and St. Paul. I also have a Podcast channel and am now working on establishing my own entertainment company under the name TVF Entertainment. My newest endeavor, which is also one of my passions, is creating and producing my television show on a local cable network in the cities, which I am ecstatic to release to the community and the world later this year. I specialize in everything when it comes to entertainment. This means the more skills and abilities you possess, the better the outcome of your product or content. In society, there are a lot of podcasts, radio shows, and television shows that, no offense, copy the next show or duplicate the ideas of another creation. I stand out differently because of my unique ideas of thinking and my character. We all have our gifts and are blessed with them. However, how we decide to use them is critical. I believe in trying different methods of approach to creative ideas, marketing, camera angles, and how I can make the viewer become in awe with how content is displayed to them. I believe in going against the grain and developing fun, innovative ways to challenge the viewer and possibly spark the next creative in their minds to try to outdo what I am setting out to do. Be yourself, be true, and don’t be afraid to try different things when creating.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I have always been a thinker and a creator. Instead, I was drawing in class when I should have been paying attention (lol) or creating my world in my head, meaning acting as if there were 50-thousand fans in attendance to watch me play on my Nurf basketball hoop or outside playing football by myself or even holding concerts and pretending to go on tour and entertaining the masses with my musical performances. I have always been my biggest fan and most prominent critic. I was shy, not much of a talker, “says the radio personality today.” I loved sports and how the games were produced, such as plays and the way they developed.
Moreover, I always like to think outside the box and try to find terrific ways to create art. Now that I have matured and am in a creative career, all that helped set me up for what I have become today. I make those scenarios, and then I find myself in those same scenarios as an adult; whether it’s talking to celebrities during radio interviews or hosting events in front of many people, it’s almost destiny that I was placed in this career.
