Meet Jennifer Oman of Northern Path Acupuncture

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenni Oman.

Jennifer Oman

Hi Jenni, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey into the world of holistic health began as a massage therapist. As a dancer, I discovered the healing power of acupuncture for my dance injuries. Encouraged by my acupuncturist, I decided to delve deeper into this field. This led me to pursue a master’s degree in acupuncture, initially in NYC and later in Minnesota at Northwestern Health Sciences. Since 2020, I’ve been running my private practice, Northern Path.

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The two biggest hurdles were transferring grad schools from New York to Minnesota. Each school is so specialized, so I added an extra year to my studies. In hindsight, I was prepared to enter the work environment and am grateful for the entirety of my education. The other major hurdle was beginning my private practice in 2020. Business was slow, but starting then was favorable, instead of taking a significant practice break and risking losing skill and knowledge. I worked an extra job to compensate for the lack of traffic for a year.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I run an Acupuncture private practice. Acupuncture includes needling, cupping, gua sha, massage, herbal therapy, and food therapy. Beginning my holistic career as a licensed massage therapist and working with athletes and professional dancers for nearly a decade, I specialize in musculoskeletal symptoms (pain, tension, disorders, injuries). Acupuncture and the associated modalities are very effective tools for helping people regain functionality and comfort. My background in dance gives me a deep understanding of how the body works and how to heal it.

We could end by discussing what matters most to you and why.
I’m making a difference in people’s lives.
