Hi Aya, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hey! My name is Aya Shaw, and I’m a small content creator with a passion for fashion and beauty. I started creating in 2021 after I graduated with my bachelor’s degree. I have been interested in fashion since I was a teen, thanks to my mother, a fashionista.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, and I think most creators can relate to that answer because sometimes you get creator’s block, my mind goes blank, you feel like you cannot think of anything that will interest your followers, or you don’t feel like creating content anymore.

People mostly know me for my content creation on fashion and books. I like to create short videos/reels where I create outfits or book reviews, too. Thanks to it, I am mostly proud of my book review content and the community I’m starting to develop on TikTok. Firstly, the fact that I mix fashion with books. Secondly, I will mention my bubbly personality; I’m entertaining, which translates well in my videos.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love summer in Minneapolis, the nature. I like the fact that there are so many restaurants offering different types of food. I wouldn’t say I like the winter, obviously 😂; I come from a country with no winter (Ivory Coast in West Africa).
