Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
As a former teacher, I love to have a plan. As a mom to three young children, I was always on the hunt for activities to do with the kids so we could have a plan for our days. I used to joke with my husband that keeping them entertained, engaged, and exploring out of the house was a full-time job. It is what I spent all my downtime between naps and after bedtime planning. I spent much time when they were tiny, wishing for a safe local play space with three young kids where I could see them from all angles. It felt calm, and we could drop in. While that is still the end goal, I opted to create play spaces where you want them. With soft play sets designed for ages 0-5, I assemble a play space in your home or event venue. You can take the planning out of it, as the kids are thoroughly entertained with our soft play sets. It has been a joy to be part of so many special days this way!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Decision fatigue is confirmed when you are a business owner! When designing the play sets, or play nooks as I call them, I agonized over every piece on quality, style, age range, and how it fits with the whole. There were multiple orders and returns because a piece needed to meet my standards. Another struggle is that I do it all. It is a one-woman show, from customer service to social media to deliveries. I love it that way, but it can make powering off for an evening or a vacation trickier. Now that I have been in business for just over a year, I get to spend my time marketing and doing pop-up play events, which fills me with excitement that I can provide families a place to play for a morning.
Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We bring the fun to you! With a teaching background, every play nook we rent is designed with multiple items in mind. These items include STEM, imaginative play, gross motor, safety, flow, creativity, sensory, and collaboration. It is fascinating to watch how children play on the equipment together and alone and to see all the new ways they come up with to play. I am incredibly proud of my honesty and communication with families as I work to make the play space at your event the easiest part of your planning.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
Woodbury is a beautiful community that feels everyone has the town’s best interest at heart. I love seeing the city come together for events and the conversations about going on around town on a regular day. Woodbury has all the stores and tons of beautiful green space. The only thing lacking is a cute downtown.
