Hi Stephanie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I wanted to open a thriving business and be competitive in Owatonna. I decided on a gym because I have never been to what I would describe as my perfect gym. I wanted to be able to purchase a membership without having a tour or needing to have a key fob. I wanted to create a convenient, comfortable, and affordable gym. After 6 months of research, I found the right software system for my gym and inexpensive equipment. The gym offers everything you need to complete a comprehensive workout for many workout styles: cardio, free weights, and exercise machines. The gym is 3,000 square feet and consists of 15 exercise machines, a deadlift room, a dumbbell room, and a stretching/cooldown room. Exercise is also essential for young athletes, so we allow kids aged 12 to 18. Kids 12 to 14 are supervised by their guardians, who also have memberships. Everyone is expected to clean up after themselves and put their weights away. We have cultivated an excellent group of health and fitness enthusiasts.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Honestly, it has been relatively smooth! We opened in March of 2023, and I’m sure we have had hard times, but we have grown gradually with new members month over month. It would be amazing to offer more than we do, but those are goals for the next gym. For now, everyone is satisfied with what we offer, and they seem more confident with the environment than the equipment.

You can control your membership and unlock the front door via the StreamFit app. There is no need to come in for a tour, get a key fob, or sign a waiver (unless you want to). Everything can be completed via the app.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love that everything is only 5 minutes away (even if it’s across town). I love our downtown!
