Hi Danielle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Danielle acquired her love for photography from her grandma Dolly, who always had a disposable film camera ready whenever she visited. The joy of taking photos, then waiting for the film to be developed was such a sweet experience. At 8 years old, Danielle received her very own pink, Barbie camcorder and she followed her family around everywhere with it. Then, she used her birthday money to purchase her very first digital pink Polaroid camera and photography became an everyday pastime. She created “Picture My Heart Photography” in high school, then Moments by Danielle Nicole officially started in 2016, as a senior portrait experience. Danielle captured her first wedding in 2017 and immediately fell in love. During college at UNW, she became the football team’s photographer and spent every home game day on the sidelines capturing epic moments, while also taking photos for articles for the newspaper. After relocating to South Dakota in 2020, she upgraded her gear to mirrorless and shot 10 weddings that fall. Since then, she’s built a six figure business and captured 65+ wedding day love stories and built an internship and associate team to help out on wedding days. MBDN became Danielle’s fulltime job starting in the fall of 2023, in order to spend more time with her toddler and on the farm, and has fallen in love with her passion of capturing sentimental moments for couples and families even more.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest obstacle Danielle faces is attracting luxury clients in the middle of the prairie in South Dakota. Due to the lack of venues that allow for the light and airy, fine art style to shine, Danielle had to focus on getting creative and creating beautiful imagery that takes the ordinary and develops it into an emotional, light-hearted album or video that the couple can look back on for generations to come. Since 2023, Danielle now offers wedding photography and videography for couples all over the Midwest and destination locations. Between 2022-2024, she has traveled over 20,000+ miles capturing stories all over the midwest. She tries to create photos and videos for couples and families with a southern charm style that makes viewers fall in love with the story behind each scene.

Danielle adores her passion for creating photos and videos for families and couples to reflect back on some of the sweetest moments in life, From the tiny details of a newborn to their senior year and all the family moments in-between and beyond, Danielle loves to create imagery for families who want reminders of those precious moments to share with generations to come.
She specializes in both newborn, senior, family, milestone, and motherhood portraits, while also capturing engagements and wedding photography and videography for couples. She is known for her sweet, calm, and caring nature and for getting a variety of perspectives throughout each session or wedding to fully tell the story unfolding in front of her camera.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
When deciding to expand her business through an internship and associate program, Danielle took a leap of faith and has only received countless blessings from it through amazing shared memories and relationships with her growing team. When deciding to go fulltime in her website and photography businesses, Danielle took the leap of faith and fully trusted God would provide the perfect clients who fit her dream client model. After taking the jump fulltime, she struggled with finding the balance of working from home while also catering to her toddler son and husband and figuring out how to juggle being a mom, wife, multi business owner, exploring her passions, and also taking care of her home. After several months, the risk of losing a bi-weekly corporate paycheck faded as God fully blessed her businesses beyond her imaginations and booked her entire corporate yearly salary within just 40 days in the spring of 2024. Danielle has learned the more you entrust God with the passions He has given you, the more He provided for you to fulfill the calling He’s placed on your heart.
