My journey began in the corporate world, where I spent over 17 years with a Fortune 25 retail giant. There, I managed billion-dollar budgets and led massive teams, experiences that honed my skills and prepared me for the entrepreneurial leap I was destined to take.
Leaving the corporate world wasn’t an easy decision, but my passion for helping businesses grow online pushed me to take the plunge. I wanted to create something of my own that could truly make a difference for other entrepreneurs. That’s how Digital Dawn was born.
Starting with just a dream and a deep understanding of the digital marketing landscape, I built my agency from the ground up. Leaving the corporate world wasn’t an easy decision. I vividly remember the anxiety and fear that came with stepping away from a secure, well-paying job. The safety net was gone, and every decision was now on my shoulders. The early days of Digital Dawn were a whirlwind of late nights and early mornings. I juggled countless roles—from marketing strategist to financial planner and everything in between. The pressure was intense, but so was my determination.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was building a team that shared my vision. Hiring the right people is crucial, and sometimes I got it wrong. I had to learn how to lead a diverse group of individuals, each with their unique strengths and weaknesses; doing this all remotely, before working remote was even a thing. There were moments of doubt, especially when things didn’t go as planned, and I had to pivot quickly to stay on course.
Rebranding was another significant hurdle. The original name didn’t resonate with our clients and felt too corporate, which was a stark contrast to the personalized, hands-on service we provided. It took nearly five years and countless brainstorming sessions to find a name that truly reflected our mission and values. The process was grueling, but it taught me the importance of aligning your brand with your vision and the power of authenticity in marketing.
Financial struggles were also a constant companion in the early years. Managing cash flow while trying to expand the business was a delicate balancing act. There were times when I had to make tough decisions about where to allocate resources. Each choice felt like a gamble, and the stakes were always high.
