Today we’d like to introduce you to Armelle Edoh.
Hi Armelle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I fell seriously ill and after final diagnosis I started looking into self-healing journey. I made a list of things to change about my lifestyle, and one important thing is to do more of what give me joy. Cooking and styling food and serve it to family and friends gives me joy. And since I was on a healing journey, I decided to start sharing about the healthy eating journey I embark on. But since I no longer have enough energy to entertain a big crowd, I can at least show them how to cook what I am making by sharing recipe and enticing food picture. And by doing so I started blending my own salt free spices for health-conscious people.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting my journey as a food blogger came with numerous challenges. It certainly hasn’t been a smooth ride. I had to learn how to work with lighting to take better food pictures and upgrade my camera equipment. Additionally, I needed to master editing software like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere.
Balancing my full-time job, family life, and social media commitments has also been a significant challenge. Managing my time effectively while frequently using my phone for social media tasks has been difficult and not always ideal.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a professional project manager with over a decade of experience, I specialize in healthcare project implementations. My expertise lies in managing complex projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget. My work is known for its efficiency, attention to detail, and successful outcomes, which have consistently led to improved healthcare delivery and patient satisfaction.
In addition to my full-time role, I am also an artist, creator, and food blogger. I dedicate myself to writing weekly blog posts, as well as taking and editing pictures and videos for daily posts on social media. This creative pursuit allows me to blend my passion for art and food, engaging with a community of like-minded individuals.
I am particularly proud of my ability to balance these dual careers. My time management skills and commitment to excellence enable me to excel in both domains. What sets me apart is my unique combination of technical project management expertise and creative expression. This blend of skills allows me to bring innovative solutions to my professional projects while nurturing my creative passions.
My diverse experiences have not only enriched my professional life but have also given me a broader perspective, enabling me to approach challenges with creativity and a fresh outlook.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
The COVID-19 crisis has imparted numerous valuable lessons that have significantly shaped both my professional and personal endeavors. As a project manager in the healthcare sector, the pandemic underscored the importance of adaptability, resilience, and the need for rapid, effective communication. It became crucial to implement agile methodologies to navigate the unprecedented challenges and to ensure that projects remained on track despite the disruptions. The crisis reinforced the importance of being prepared for unexpected events and highlighted the need for strong contingency planning.
On a personal level, as an artist, creator, and food blogger, the pandemic taught me the importance of flexibility and innovation. With traditional methods of content creation and engagement disrupted, I had to explore new ways to connect with my audience, such as virtual events and live streaming. This period also emphasized the value of community and support networks, both online and offline.
One of the most important lessons from this experience is the significance of mental health and work-life balance. Juggling a full-time job, creative pursuits, and personal responsibilities during a global crisis taught me the necessity of setting boundaries, prioritizing self-care, and staying connected with loved ones.
Ultimately, the COVID-19 crisis has reinforced the importance of adaptability, resilience, and the ability to pivot quickly in response to changing circumstances. These lessons have made me a more effective project manager and a more innovative creator, allowing me to navigate challenges with greater confidence and creativity.
