Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassidy Scanlan.
Hi Cassidy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 2022, after graduating from the University of Minnesota Duluth, I was working as a Marketing Project Coordinator in Superior, WI. My life took a significant turn when I decided to take a chance and move to Brainerd, MN. This move required me to leave my job and embark on a new path. While searching for a new job, I struggled to find a suitable marketing position and felt uncertain about my next steps. When I shared this dilemma with my parents, they suggested that I set out on my own and create a freelance marketing company. With nearly seven years of marketing experience at the time, I was intrigued by this new venture. With the full support of my family and friends, I founded Extra Mile Marketing, which has since evolved into Cassidy Scanlan Advertising Group.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Creating a company from scratch is always a gamble, with obstacles being an inevitable part of the journey. One of the challenges I’ve faced is managing everything on my own. In the past, working for other companies allowed me to focus solely on the tasks assigned to me. Now, I am responsible for every aspect of my business and ensuring everything runs smoothly. Over the past two years, I have improved my management skills and feel more confident in the process. One of the most important lessons I have learned is the value of seeking advice from other professionals. From the creation of CSAG to the present day, I am grateful to those who have helped me establish the company we are today.

Cassidy Scanlan Advertising Group, CSAG, was founded in response to a common trend I observed. When discussing social media with my parents and their friends, I consistently heard the same story: they either didn’t enjoy managing their personal social media accounts, didn’t have time to manage them or didn’t know how to leverage them to their full potential. Having grown up with personal social media accounts and managing business accounts for over seven years, I felt confident in pursing online marketing. In addition to social media management, I bring years of experience in videography, branding, and website design. This is where my years of experience and my ability to solve a common problem became the creation of CSAG.
Since the creation of CSAG in 2022, working with my amazing clients has helped me learn and grow, further enhancing the services we offer. One of the key lessons I’ve learned is the importance of tailoring our services to meet each client’s unique needs, rather than adopting a “one-size-fits-all” approach. For each potential client, I set up a consultation to review my services and pricing. Based on their budget and marketing goals, I develop a customized plan that best suits their company’s needs. Our services include:
Website Design: Our website design services range from refining an existing site to creating one from scratch.
Social Media Management: We create social media pages (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Google My Business, Google Ads) and develop a posting schedule that best fits your company’s needs.
Video Creation: We travel to your location to film for your company and handle all the editing to produce the final product.
Branding: We help develop your company’s brand identity through logo design and selecting colors and fonts that best fit your company’s story.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Growing up, my family loved to travel around the country each summer in our campers, along with our close family friends. On these trips, we would embark on a road trips to visit famous national parks in the United States, this included Yellowstone, Glacier, Grand Teton and many more. These trips became a cherished summer ritual. At the time, I didn’t fully grasp how special this was, but now, as an adult, I realize what an incredible experience it was. To this day, all the families remain very close, and we’ve created lifelong bonds. We still reminisce on the amazing adventures we took all those summers during our childhood.
