Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey into fashion began with a fascination for high heels and a deep-seated passion for creativity. Introduced to the world of fashion shows at just 19, I eagerly volunteered at the Twin Cities Black Film Festival, where fashion became intertwined with my path. Walking my first runway at 20 ignited a love affair with the industry that only grew stronger over the years.
In 2017, I found my place on the Black Fashion Week Team, where I immersed myself in every aspect of production—from model calls to working closely with designers. It was here that my overwhelming love for fashion production blossomed, paving the way for the creation of Ambers Fashion Production Company (Ambers FPC). Named in honor of my sister Krista Ambers, whose life was tragically cut short by domestic violence on August 5, 2015, my company stands as a beacon of support for domestic abuse victims and survivors.
Today, Ambers Fashion Production Company serves as a safe haven and resource for those in need, offering more than just fashion events but a platform for empowerment and healing. With our official launch on March 23, 2024, we continue to honor Krista’s memory by advocating for change and spreading awareness through the art of fashion.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Along the journey, there have been challenges, primarily revolving around access to resources and gaining recognition to be hired as a fashion show producer by those new to event planning or unsure of where to start. Despite these hurdles, my passion has always propelled me forward. Amidst these challenges, I was approached to produce fashion shows for the Smokin on the Runway back in August 2023. I have since produced three remarkable shows, each a testament to perseverance and dedication in pursuing what I love.

Whether it’s a high-profile runway show, a bespoke fashion event, or providing models and production support for shoots, we ensure each project reflects our commitment to quality, creativity, and meaningful storytelling.

I take pride in creating meaningful, impactful experiences through fashion events that inspire positive change and foster a sense of community and empowerment among my audience and clients alike.

I will soon be launching the Ambers Foundation, we will aim to provide crucial support through education, training, resources, clothing, food, and funding for individuals needing assistance with relocation. This initiative is our commitment to honoring the memory of Krista Ambers and supporting survivors of domestic violence in rebuilding their lives with dignity and empowerment.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
For my success the one that stands out as the most important to me is Passion and Dedication. Passion fuels creativity, drives innovation, and sustains motivation over time. It’s the driving force behind the company’s mission to use fashion as a platform for social change and advocacy. Without passion, the commitment to excellence, resilience in the face of challenges, and empathy towards others may falter. Passion keeps the team focused, inspired, and dedicated to their cause, ensuring that every project and initiative is approached with enthusiasm and purpose. Therefore, while professionalism, creativity, empathy, and other qualities are essential, it is passion that ultimately ignites and sustains the journey towards success.
