Today, we’d like to introduce you to N3RD4KING.
Hi N3RD4KING, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started writing music at 13 but started my emcee career at 25. As a teen, people would often promise me an opportunity to record an album or sign to a label, but it never happened.
So I took things into my own hands and started my company Armageddon Productions. I started my career by recording songs on SoundCloud from my phone. From there I started working a former friend and he taught me how to mix music, so I brought my own laptop, microphone, and headphones and started recording. After a few albums and songs, I decided to go LIVE on FB and talk about pro wrestling and anime, but that turned to me playing my music on my streams and starting a new era in my music career, which is being a podcast/radio host. I started streaming on FB every Friday and called my show ARMAGEDDON RADIO, which is still going on today!
But that wasn’t enough because I wanted to perform without waiting to get booked on shows, so in 2K20, I started doing online streaming concert shows. It was the highlight of Armageddon Productions, but we were doing it during the pandemic. Later, in 2K21, I started booking venues for Armageddon Productions concerts, which was a success from 2K21 to 2K23. N3RD4KING is still performing at shows and events while giving other independent artists a platform to play their music.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There has been many challenges in my career that I can say help me grow as an entrepreneur and artist.
ARMAGEDDON RADIO had to stop streaming for awhile because cpu or connection problems, other time people send music that has copyright getting me flagged. Other times, you lose so-called friends, fans, bookings, and business partners because of many differences.
But I don’t regret any of the lessons and blessings that I received while being in this music culture.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Hip Hop artist from the Twin Cities, I specialize in streaming, recording, mixing, and promoting.
My most proudest moment is performing at the R.A. The Rugged Man show in Minneapolis. It was great and the crowd was great and it was a fantastic moment for me. One I will never forget.
My drive and vision separate me from others. I don’t want to be like everyone else, and I see things differently from every artist in Minnesota or the United States. My originality and love for hip-hop and nerdy things make me who I am. And I’m proud of that!
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
I do backyard wrestling, play Yugi-Oh, play video games, and play basketball and football with my friends. Just hanging out!
