Today we’d like to introduce you to Estefania Goodman
Hi Estefania, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am Estefania, a 33-year-old Ecuadorian who decided to emigrate to the United States 5 years ago. I am a single mother and my main motivation for leaving my country was the desire to give a better quality of life to my son, my love Andy, so that he has more opportunities to get ahead, in addition to the fact that I always wanted to speak in English and I wanted to see that dream fulfilled in my son.
When I arrived in the United States I loved its people, its culture and education, as well as the obvious technological advances.
When I started working, I had two jobs, I left home at 7 am and returned at 11 pm, because at that time I didn’t have a car and I commuted by bus. That meant that I had to leave my son alone at home almost all day or when he was at school, he would come home alone and I would leave his food prepared so that my son could only heat it and he would spend it alone. Thank God he was always a calm and responsible child, he did not get into mischief and helped me at home which allowed me to work.
They were very difficult times, because I felt physically tired and emotionally very guilty for leaving my son alone. When he came home he was in the dark and alone and that broke my heart.
Time for my son was very important to me because I grew up without my parents because they emigrated when I was a child and I didn’t know my father and I had my mother with me until I was 6 years old, after that I grew up with family and friends who took care of us but evidently there was a lack of love, something that has been ingrained in me until now. Thinking that I was giving the same life to my son was very painful.
So, one day I sat down to think about what I can do to improve my income and have a little more time for my son.
In my country, I worked in (financial) Cooperatives as a private employee but I felt that I was not happy so I was thinking about what I can do and I realized that what I like most is cleaning and organizing, and that I was good at doing this. I had this skill but I didn’t know what to do until I started researching on Google and discovered that I could turn this passion into a profession.
Then I started researching courses and on social networks I contacted a compatriot and took the training with her because for me it is important to have not only the skill but the knowledge. So I prepared and certified myself as a Professional Organizer and thus I began to build my small company, PAES – Cleaning & Organizing, I am just beginning to provide this service accompanied by the topic of house cleaning.
It is really something that I am passionate about, I enjoy doing this and apart from the fact that it is my job I also see it as an opportunity to help people. I love helping people through small actions, it makes me happy so when I offer my services as an organizer I not only focus on lifting things but understanding their needs, many people live in chaos due to traumatic events or are going through episodes of loss of a loved one, or problems with depression and anxiety or perhaps because of their health they can no longer move like before or perhaps lack of time or they do not have the ability to do this but they want to live organized, so I like to do this for them because after For this they are deeply grateful.
Just an observation, my organization services do not consist solely of putting things away. Organization involves creating systems for each thing with the aim of maintaining order over time.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was not and is not an easy task. Being alone in this country, being a single mother, not mastering the language have been big barriers for me.

Some may not be able to purchase organizers or containers, so we work with what the client has available. In summary, I believe that our differentiator among cleaning companies is customization and since I am directly in charge of the work, I am not concerned about the hours a project takes but rather the result that I am going to deliver to my client.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
The Covid experience has taught me several valuable lessons, primarily emphasizing the fragility and transience of life. It has underscored the significance of cherishing time spent with loved ones and the importance of expressing love without reservation. Moreover, it has highlighted the value of contentment and appreciating the essentials within our grasp.

- Rates vary depending on the service. If you are looking for cleaning service only, then we do a free estimate after seeing the house. In the case of cleaning, we do not always base ourselves solely on the size of the house but on the condition of the house. There are large houses with few things or small houses with many things, so, again our service is personalized from the price to the service, for the issue of Organization it is similar.
