Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenna Michele
Jenna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m a cozy/casual gaming content creator with 4 years of experience livestreaming between BIGO Live, TikTok, Twitch, and more. Although I used to stream variety content, I focused in on the cozy gaming niche in March of 2023 and have stuck with it ever since. Currently, I’m a TikTok Live Host partnered with TikTok via Hypernova Digital Entertainment Talent Agency, as well as a Twitch Affiliate and member of the EA Creator Network.
I have been a gamer girl passionate about cozy, casual games, particularly The Sims, since childhood, and this passion has followed me into adulthood. I particularly enjoy playing and streaming games such as The Sims 4, Minecraft, Stardew Valley, Roblox, and Animal Crossing.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Livestreaming has had its ups and downs! After the pandemic slowed down, many platforms, including Instagram and Tumblr, either reduced or eliminated their payment programs for creators, This took away income from a lot of content creators, including myself. I’ve had to be strategic and flexible when it comes to my content and the platforms I create on to ensure I will be properly compensated for the content I create for each platform. Luckily, I have been able to partner with several brands, including EA Games, which helps make up for some of this lost income.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I feel like I’m mostly known for the pink mods I use in the games I play. Pink has become my comfort color, and a bit of an obsession the past few years. I love to download custom mods to make the games I play match my aesthetic more, and then share those mods with my followers so they can download them themselves! I’m hoping to learn how to create my own mods soon!
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I feel like patience and flexibility are incredibly important as a content creator. Success generally isn’t something that happens overnight, it takes long term commitment, You have to learn how to grow slowly as a creator, and be flexible with the things platforms throw at you. Whether it be unfair bans, unfair copyright claims, or the removal of creator fund programs.
