Today we’d like to introduce you to Gary Wall
Hi Gary, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Dude Food was born from frustration. I am the products of a fourth-generation Wisconsin family farm, who intimately understood the challenges facing today’s meat industry. Raised on his family’s farm, I witnessed firsthand the shortcomings of the current meat market. Continuously approached by friends and neighbors seeking meat directly from the farm (cause store meat sucks), I recognized an opportunity to bridge the gap.
By utilizing partnerships with local, reputable farmers and butcher shops, we not only bolstered support for our community’s agricultural backbone but also delivered a reliable, premium meat source to households nationwide. Our commitment extends beyond just providing quality meat; it’s about fostering a network of trust between farmers and consumers, ensuring that every bite reflects our dedication to excellence and integrity.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been anything but a smooth road. While starting a business is hard enough, working with food regulations and trying to ship meat across the country in the middle of summer makes thing that much harder. Everything from finding capital to support the business to figuring out every day operations has been a challenge but in a good way.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Dude Food in the simplest terms is a meat subscription box. People visit our website, select their cuts of meat and a few days later it will show up on their door. However, behind the scenes we are so much more than that. We are trying to change the way people across America consume protein. The meat supply chain in America is totally broken. Four giant corporations control 80% of the meat market. People have no choice in the meat they eat or whats in it. On the other side, family farms in the USA are dropping like flys every year. This creates a very unstable and unhealthy supply chain. Dude Food aims to fix this problem by exclusively working directly with local farmers in the Midwest to source CLEAN, healthy, and sustainable meats free of any B.S you find in corporate meat.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Growing up on a farm was by farm one of things I am most grateful for. The countless things me and my siblings got to do that many people don’t get to experience even in a lifetime.
