Meet Sydney Bittle of Sydney McKenna Interior Design

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney Bittle

Hi Sydney, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always been an art obsessed, visual and spatial person. From the days of middle school I knew I wanted to be an interior designer and attend the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. I actually applied and attended the U without ever touring – I just knew this was my path. After completing school, I immediately began working in boutique residential interior studios, designing and collaborating with clients all around the country. I enjoyed the the creativity and project management opportunities these workplaces offered me. As the years went on, I felt the tug to go on my own and begin something that was authentically me. I love traditional design, but with a punch of something contemporary, and I wanted to bring that look and lifestyle to the market. I am now the owner and principal designer at Sydney McKenna Interior Design and working with residential clients across the Midwest. My objective is always to make the design and build process as enjoyable and efficient as possible. I focus on clear scheduling and communication, paired with 3D realistic rendering, to ensure my clients are in the know and feel confident with every decision.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like many entrepreneurs, my biggest hurdle has been my own self doubt and fear. It is a daily decision to keep my faith and trust that everything will work out – and so far it absolutely has!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I am a full service interior design studio. I specialize 3D realistic rendering and developing individualized processes to ensure there is clear communication between clients, the trades and myself. Developing design strategies that allow my clients to feel confident throughout the process is what drives my work and sets my studio apart.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I have had many wonderful mentors throughout my career and life, but none compare to the encouragement of my parents. They’ve believed in every single crazy idea I’ve ever had, and I know I wouldn’t be half the woman I am in business or in life without their love and support.
