My journey significantly turned 14 years ago when I immigrated to Minnesota. This move was both exciting and daunting, as I left behind the familiar streets of Germany for the unknown horizons of America. Initially, I embraced my role as a stay-at-home mom, dedicating nine years to raising my children and creating a loving home. While this period was incredibly rewarding, I eventually realized that something was missing. I craved a balance that went beyond the fulfillment of family life—a balance that aligned with my passions and personal growth.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Re-entering the workforce and carving out a niche in the real estate industry was a significant hurdle. I had to overcome the biases and preconceptions that came with being an immigrant and a woman in a competitive field. Building a business that caters to the specific needs of diverse communities requires not just industry knowledge, but also a deep understanding of cultural and religious dynamics. There were moments of doubt, countless rejections, and the constant challenge of proving my expertise and commitment to my clients.
One of the most significant challenges has been educating and empowering individuals on generational halal wealth and financial literacy.
