Today we’d like to introduce you to Rehte Ru
Hi Rehte , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It all started when I bought my first google pixel phone. From there I started taking pictures at night time for a few years, because at the time google pixel were the only phone that has night sight. In 2021 after roadtrip to the west coast, I realized that cell phone camera isn’t enough, it didn’t justify the beauty that I’m seeing with my own eyes. So I decided to invest in a mirrorless camera. From there the rest is history. Today I am a full time destination wedding photographer.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Luckily for me, I had a friend and a mentor that helps me get my foot in the wedding business. He taught me everything I needed to know to run a successful business. He also sent me out to shoot weddings that he couldn’t attend to, and that helped me gained exposure and recognition in the community.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a full time wedding photographer. I’d like to think that I specialize in telling a story from a unique perspective with the camera. I am most known for my candid, fun and easy going style of photography in the community. I am most proud of my tiny Fujifilm camera. It keeps me passionate and just makes me want to go out and take pictures everyday. Of course I am most proud and thankful that I get to document people most important day and sharing it the memories that last a life time with them.
I think what sets me apart from others is my background. Being a kid from a refugee who never thought any of this is possible to doing this as a full time job.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love that it’s so diverse in culture and in food. What I like the least about our city is the winter and the fact that we don’t have any mountains.
