Hi KRISTI, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
huntgather is 21 years old. It is a vintage amusement store .
two levels 15 dealers Edited crammed. kooky.. I started as a dealer at American Classics that was in this space prior to me and I bought that business (the shell of it ) changed everything!
and turned it into Huntgather… My great grandpa came from Norway and started a general store in western Minnesota my interest in antiques started young…
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
it is work work work. One daughter was two years old and one was nine months old when I took over the Business .!it evolved slowly, but I had a vision of how I wanted it and was very firm on what I wanted it to become.There were bumps along the way as I got rid of some dealers and I changed absolutely everything on the inside of the building..: it continues to evolve and I keep setting the bar as high as possible and work like a dog…

Hunt and gather is peoples happy place .
people feel that they get creative ideas when they step in the door I change everything in the shop monthly and the dealers are committed to finding the best of the best and we edit and make things as visually pleasing as possible continually! I like to make it an event when people walk through the door. We have good loud music on. It’s a fun busy place and it feels electric when you walk through the door.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
success means never been quite satisfied,…competing in a friendly way with others and making sure you keep your eye on the prize and try and win at what you are doing. Don’t be lazy and keep that bar as high as humanly possible you might have to stand on your tippy toes sometimes…
