Rising Stars: Meet Caden Wenzel of St.Michael

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caden Wenzel

Caden, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Caden Wenzel and I was born and raised in Minnesota. From a young age, my parents always thought I was creative, innovative and had an entrepreneurial spirit. As soon as I could walk, I wanted to be an athlete. It started out with hockey, lacrosse, baseball, and then golf. Golf is one of the sports that most people either love the challenge or find too difficult to enjoy . As a young child, I often found golf frustrating however I enjoyed playing with my dad. As I started to grow up my love for golf kept growing. My uncles, my grandpas, and other family members told me I should keep going and keep practicing. Along with my love for golf came a love for all things business. I have always thought it would be awesome to have my own business someday and be my own boss. I took this love for golf and owning a business and put it to the test in my early childhood. In 2017. I opened my first business named RE-USA-BALL. I sold used golf balls at my house and had pop up sales during the summer. I decided that I liked the idea of having my own business but decided the golf ball business wasn’t for me. I took a break after I closed shop in 2023 and thought about what I really wanted to do. I was always interested in social media and thought it would be cool to try out social media influencing. In January of 2024 I converted my golf ball page with 300 followers to a lifestyle page. At first I reached out to tons of brands to ask what their influencer programs looked like and to see how to join. Unfortunately, most brands do not consider influencers with just 300 followers. I was disappointed but kept going and got into affiliate marketing where I could share links and earn commission on products I endorsed. I was seeing real growth in my account and by June of 2024 I had over 15K followers! This was a remarkable milestone for me and was a huge step to growing my page. Over the summer I worked on finding my niche and of course I wanted to base it off of my favorite sport, golf. I researched some of my favorite brands to partner with like Caddy Splash, Swannies Golf, Optimal Performance Golf, bluecaddie, Blue Tees Golf, and even was selected as a content creator at the 3M Open, here in Minnesota. These experiences and networking opportunities have really expanded my knowledge and throughout all of these events I have met some amazing people and am grateful for the relationships I have formed. I am currently a senior in high school and plan to major in Marketing or a related field in college. Thank you to all of my amazing followers, partners, family, and friends who have helped me along this journey. Even though in the beginning I didn’t know where exactly I would go, God knew my path and has guided me to follow my passion!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey was not easy, I had to build up my following from the ground up. One thing I struggled with was reaching out to companies. Even with one thousand followers most companies don’t view you as being helpful for their brand. This was super hard for me and made me want to just grow super fast and just have so many followers instantly. I knew that wasn’t possible so I started working with smaller companies and making videos, I knew if people liked my content they would start to follow and like my content.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in social media Influencing, a social media influencer is someone who creates content to influence their followers and audience. Influencers collaborate with brands so that brands get social media exposure and have possible leads to purchases. I am most known for my funny, relatable, and brand partnership golf content. I am most proud of my accomplishments and how I went from almost no social media presence to now having daily follows and continued support from all over the country. One thing that sets me apart from others is that I am not afraid to show my views on something and I strive to be a better human everyday.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Being proud of something you accomplished.
