Today we’d like to introduce you to Chase Hedges
Hi Chase, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Our journey began during the beginning of Covid. We knew we were getting supplemental money from the government and had been discussing things to buy with it. Nathaniel, Alyssa, Regan and I were watching YouTube while doing puzzles. We made a joke about starting a YouTube channel to make extra money. Long story short, we used our money and bought a new GoPro, drone and laptop. We started a YouTube channel and made travel vlogs.
I started consuming videos on how to use adobe premiere pro, and from there it became an obsession on how to get better and better. Things became more serious around 2021 and we purchased a Sony mirrorless camera with a few lenses. Over time I wanted to make money with the hobby so we researched wedding films and started in 2023 with our first wedding film.
I created an LLC in 2024 once we became more established and we now specialize in wedding films, music videos, and business promotional videos along with portrait photography.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. On top of a full time job, I’m constantly trying to level up the business most days I have off. Learning and retaining everything from video editing, to videography, to color grading, to studying and researching other businesses near us is exhausting. However, the road may have had some obstacles in the way, but we are working on obtaining our small and long term goals which is always a step in the right direction.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
So as I stated before, we specialize in wedding films, music videos and business promos. We also do portrait photography such as family photos, engagement photos, senior photos and more. We are known for having a creative mindset and having a ‘cinematic’ look to our films and videos. I think I can speak for the 4 of us and say that we are most proud of where we started and where we are today. Hard work, dedication and perseverance are all real things in achieving what you want.
In the wedding film world, I think what sets us apart is our lower prices in comparison to skill level, and how we communicate with our clients. I also think our delivery time for wedding films is above average. When I start a project, I hyper focus and put hours into it at a time.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
