Today we’d like to introduce you to Trinity Jabas
Trinity, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My photography journey started in 2018, and my sister played a huge role in shaping it. She had already been working in the industry for years, and as her much younger sibling, I looked up to her in so many ways. She started bringing me along to weddings as her second shooter, and I quickly fell in love with the process—capturing raw emotions, the little in-between moments, and the joy of people celebrating together. Before long, I was the one eagerly asking, “When’s the next session?” I couldn’t get enough.
For years, I borrowed equipment, soaking up everything I could. Then in 2023, I finally took a huge step and bought my first camera. It was such an exciting and empowering moment—no more borrowing gear, no more waiting for the next opportunity. This was my start. From that point on, I took my camera everywhere, photographing anything and everything, constantly pushing myself to improve and gain confidence behind the lens.
Now, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to book weddings, portraits, headshots, and more. Each session reminds me why I fell in love with photography in the first place—the ability to freeze meaningful moments in time. It’s been an exciting journey so far, and I’m beyond grateful for where I am today. I can’t wait to see what’s next!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road—like any business, photography comes with its challenges. One of the biggest struggles I’ve faced is making myself known and consistently booking clients. When I first started, I thought social media would be the key to growing my business, but I quickly learned that simply posting my work wasn’t enough. The algorithms can be unpredictable, and getting my photos in front of the right audience was harder than I expected.
To gain traction, I began offering free sessions to build my portfolio and attract potential clients. While some people took advantage of the opportunity and appreciated the work, many others would inquire, seem excited, and then never follow through. The ratio of actual bookings to inquiries was drastically unbalanced, which made it difficult to gain momentum.
Over time, I realized that success in photography isn’t just about taking great photos—it’s about marketing, networking, and building relationships. Word-of-mouth referrals, strong client connections, and creating a memorable experience for every session have made all the difference. It’s still a journey, and I’m always learning, but each challenge has helped me grow and refine my approach to running a photography business.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a photographer with a passion for capturing real, meaningful moments. While I haven’t settled on a specific niche just yet, I’m exploring different avenues to discover where my heart truly lies. Right now, I’m especially drawn to the energy and emotion of weddings and concert photography—two completely different worlds, yet both filled with raw, unforgettable moments that I love to freeze in time.
One thing my clients often say about me is that I have a way of making them feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. Luckily, I know exactly what it’s like to be on the other side of the lens. For years, I was my sister’s go-to model while she perfected her own photography skills, which gave me a deep understanding of how it feels to be photographed—the nerves, the awkwardness, and the desire to look and feel your best. That experience has shaped the way I work with my clients today.
I know how intimidating it can be to have your photo taken, so my goal is to create a relaxed and enjoyable experience where you can truly be yourself. Whether it’s a couple’s intimate wedding day, a high-energy live performance, or a simple portrait session, I focus on capturing the most authentic version of you—flattering angles, genuine emotions, and all the little details that make a photo feel like you.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
As a self-taught photographer, I’m always looking for new ways to refine my skills and improve my workflow. One of the best resources I’ve found is social media—specifically, Facebook Reels and TikTok. I frequently watch short videos from other photographers who share their best tips, tricks, and behind-the-scenes insights. Whether it’s posing techniques, lighting hacks, or editing tutorials, these quick lessons have been incredibly valuable in helping me grow and adapt my style.
When it comes to marketing and connecting with clients, I primarily use Facebook and Instagram. These platforms allow me to showcase my work, engage with potential clients, and keep people updated on upcoming sessions and special offers. But one of the biggest game-changers for my business has been Pixieset. This platform has completely transformed the way I handle bookings and deliver client galleries. It streamlines everything—contracts, payments, scheduling, and album delivery—making the process smoother not just for me but for my clients as well. It’s been a lifesaver, allowing me to focus more on what I love: capturing beautiful, authentic moments.
