Today we’d like to introduce you to Brodie Perro
Hi Brodie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My band Nectarous came together in the summer of 2020 when I connected with our drummer Ryan online. The chemistry was instant and we go started on forming our band right away. Soon after, Mitch joined us on vocals and Elijah came in on bass. Since then, we’ve released our Wine and Spirits EP and our self titled debut album. We’ve toured across the U.S. and are currently busy working on album number two as we speak. One thing I am very proud to share is that on June 20th of this year, we will be playing the legendary Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood California. Many of our favorite bands got their starts on this stage, so it is an honor to be playing there.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to triumph has notoriously been a bumpy ride. We have been very good about setting goals and accomplishing everything we have set out to do, but sometimes fate won’t make the journey easy. Whether it’s been shows or tours getting canceled, we still strive to get our music heard and make a name for ourselves despite any adversity that comes in our way.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I play guitar in Nectarous. I specialize in bringing the bluesy, ballsy groove into the band. I sprinkle in the swing, twang, and funk to expand our rock ‘n’ roll experience. I’m most proud of my playing style because I have yet to encounter another guitarist in the midwest who would be capable of replicating my style and could hypothetically fill my shoes. There are rock guitarists all over the globe, but I believe I’m worked hard to establish a unique voice with my instrument that you can’t necessarily find too often these days.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Success comes to those who persevere. You’ll get knocked down on a daily basis, but those who dare to stand back up every time will be lucky enough to reap the rewards.
