Conversations with Pamela Weems

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pamela Weems

Hi Pamela, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started the Pink Ladies MN after being diagnosed with Breast Cancer a second time. After being Cancer free for 12 years. I started to notice there were no events supporting or celebrating women of color that was affordable. It started out a party acknowledging survivors and warriors that was affordable, we asked for donations if you could give or not. Being a single mom and on welfare I knew that some women truly didn’t have the finances.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No it hasn’t been a smooth ride. The struggles were getting women to open up and talk about their journeys. Most don’t want to talk about it and share. Finding out that more Caucasian Women are diagnosed with Breast Cancer, but more Black Women die from it. Because we’re not going to get checked. And another thing that is a struggle is getting financial support.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My professional life is a Beauty consultant and Influencer of 47 years working for high in cosmetics brands such as Lancôme Paris, Guerlain LVMH brand and currently representing Chanel Beauty Brand in Specialty Stores.

I’m proud of being the first African American Women to grace the aisles of beauty for a Europe Cosmetic Company Lancôme. And creating in-store makeup artists positions in the Minneapolis area in 1986.

What sets me apart from others I’m a Legend

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
