Exploring Life & Business with Romina Montanari of Italy with Romina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Romina Montanari

Hi Romina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I grew up in Italy in the Emilia Romagna region, an area widely considered to be the culinary capitol of Italy and the food valley of the world. I have always been passionate about food and learned about the Italian cuisine in the kitchen with my mother and aunts. As a teenager I met with a dietician in order to create a healthier diet and I started to learn about food. It was my passion and hobby as I was getting a degree from the University of Modena.

Growing up in Italy, I took Italian food for granted because it was available anytime and was all around me. It wasn’t until I moved to the United States that I realized how lucky I was for having eaten so well all my life. The thing I missed the most about home was the fresh pasta my mom, dad and I would make on the weekends for our family lunch. Making fresh pasta and teaching other people how to do it has been my passion for the last 10 years.

I created Boutique Food and Wine Tours. I lead small groups to discover one region at a time. Quality over quantity is my motto. Taste by taste you discover and understand the region. With passion I am connecting you to some of the best restaurants and experiences in the Langhe region, that are just local gems you would not otherwise find.

I like to educate your mind and palette by explaining the territory and the locally produced food, wine and dishes. I like to balance our sit-down experiences with walking and content-rich topics that include history, geography, food and wine and people.

Because I am personally there with you, enriching your experience and curating all the details, you can truly relax and feel like a local.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been a smooth road because I am offering unique and authentic Italian food and wine experiences. I am educator who love to teach about the different food and wine of Italy and the art of fresh pasta making.

The struggle is that I work myself and it hard to do everything.

We’ve been impressed with Italy with Romina, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Italy with Romina specializes in Fresh Pasta Parties and Boutique Food and Wine Tours. I call myself Italy with Romina-Taste by Taste because we discover Italy region by region.

I like to create a Conviviality Italian Table bringing people together making and eating fresh pasta, one region at a time.
Each Regional Fresh Pasta Party is a lively hands-on pasta-making class that will help you learn about different aspects of regional Italy, as well as give you all all the tools you’ll need to make fresh pasta at home. It is a fun experience that you and your guests will remember for years to come creating an unforgettable memory together.

My boutique tours are designed for people who want to embrace la dolce vita, the sweet way of life. This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy history while walking through medieval villages and castles, and learning where and how the regional food and wine is produced, by making and tasting it. Every day is full of food and wine educational and hand-on classes who makes you appreciate each regional delicacy.

I am proud of focusing on the best Italian food and wine regions and the most beautiful villages off the beaten path. I am proud of personally crafting and curating all the details so we can have an amazing, authentic and awakening Italian experience together.

I do it, we do it, you do it!
