Today we’d like to introduce you to Rommy Romero
Hi Rommy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I dreamed of being a model for as long as I can remember . Fashion and all things beauty have always excited me. My mother always dressed me in the cutest outfits everywhere we went. My second grade teacher wrote, ” I know you will become a model one day,” in my yearbook as she knew it was a dream of mine and something I would always talk about at school growing up. In high school I got to be in my first runway show and from there it became a snowball effect. Designers wanted me to be in their shows.
During the spring of 2022 I found a hidden talent in myself when I attended an audition for the feature film “Bobbys Intermission”. I got the role “Natalie” a supporting actress in the film. That was how my acting career started. I quickly fell in love with it.
I was eager to become the best model I could be so I went to Coco Rocha Model Camp in New York City to be mentored and trained by supermodel Coco Rocha. Upon arriving back home to Minnesota, filming for the movie began and I worked hard to find an agency/management team that would help me take my career to the next level. I soon joined Privileged Model Management. Over the past few years I sought out opportunities and got to walk for designers in Minnesota Fashion Week, Minnesota Swim Week, Latino Fashion Week, among others. I have big dreams and visions for my future which is why I decided to go to Los Angeles with my Privileged team this past January 2025 to audition for the biggest agents and scouts. I am blessed and full of gratitude for the experiences had in L.A and for my mother agents at Privileged Model Management in Minnesota. I am full of excitement to share that I have signed contracts with NTA Models & Talent and GEM Entertainment in Los Angeles. I look forward to the sunshine in L.A and the opportunities to come with my dream team.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Staying consistent, patient, and trusting my magic is key. There are a lot of “no’s” in this industry before there is a “yes”. I have had to create and find my own opportunities to showcase what I am capable of. I am thankful for my discipline in taking care of myself physically and mentally. You never know when an opportunity will come up so I need to be prepared to show up as the best version of me at any moment. This preparation includes fueling my body with a healthy diet, staying active, & getting my energy aligned with my vision for the future everyday. This industry is different from the rest, there is no “career ladder” that we go up which is why it is up to us individuals to seek and think about creative ways to set up our career. There is fuel that needs to go into that as well.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a print, commercial, and runway model. I am an actress most known for my role in “Bobby’s Intermission” which can be streamed on Amazon Prime, Youtube Movies, and Google Play. I am bilingual in Spanish and look forward to my first role acting in Spanish on a television series or movie. I also enjoy creating content on social media whether it’s modeling and acting content, travel, health and wellness, or what I am up to that day.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
If you can dream it you can achieve it. This is something my mom has always told me.
