Check Out Dennis Canada Jimenez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dennis Canada Jimenez

Hi Dennis, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Growing up I always had a passion for art, and after high school I was struggling to find a job that I actually had interest in. Luckily one day a friend introduced me to the idea of starting to tattoo. Once I did my research on how to get started I was immediately invested. Then a cousin of mine connected me with Cesar, a tattoo artist and owner of Kingdom Ink Studio. From there I was able to start my tattoo journey. I will admit there were times I was thinking of quitting, because it was a bit of a struggle to get started and get the ball rolling. As I finally started getting the hang of it and found styles of tattooing that I loved to do. I knew I was in the right career and gave me the opportunity to meet new people and express myself creatively. Tattooing also taught me so much, how to market myself social media wise, work on my communication skills, and push myself to improve my art style.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There were definitely ups and downs with tattooing. From getting used to using a tattoo machine to having to tell my mom that I wasn’t going to go to college, which I knew she was going to be disappointed about. Tattooing has definitely humbled me a few times. Some things they might not tell you before getting into tattooing is having to deal with clients that are upset with the work you give them, and that can be very personal because you put a lot of time and effort on something that is very difficult to do since you have to work with the body curves and every little movement the client makes.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a tattoo artist, for my tattoo style I specialize in Fineline micro realism tattoos and anime. Mainly people know me for my Fineline work, because not a lot of people can do Fineline tattoos since one wrong mess up and you can see every imperfection. The thing I’m most proud of is the fact that people come specifically to me for their tattoos because they trust me and like my style of tattooing. I feel like what sets me apart from others is that I try to find styles of tattooing that nobody has done before or put my own spin on my work.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was growing up in this apartment where there was a group kids that were around my age that I grew up with. And I always loved bringing my creative side to the group. For example I would draw up my own comic books and playing cards and give them out to my friends. One time I even made a clay model of one of the comic book characters I drew up.
