Today we’d like to introduce you to Elyssa Manderfeld
Hi Elyssa, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
After graduating from the University of Denver, I found myself back in Minnesota working for a large corporate company helping business owners establish retirement plans for their employees. I had a desire to explore the world of sales to see if it was the right fit for me and found success early, achieving recognition as a top performer. Four years into my sales career I was offered a leadership position to oversee a multi-state territory and hire and develop other sales reps; achieving top sales manager multiple years. During this time, I was also working part time for the Minnesota Vikings as a Cheerleader, cheering on the best team in the NFL! After nearly 10 years spent in my job climbing the corporate ladder, I had the opportunity to join my Mother as a Mortgage Banker where she had been building a business for 25 years. Since joining her, I haven’t looked back! It is so rewarding to be able to design a business centered around family, and helping others make arguably the biggest purchase of their life. Every day is exciting as I get to create a life and a career I love and work with people from all walks of life as they make this big decision to become homeowners or move into their next home. I truly enjoy being someone they can trust not only to educate them on the process, but also support them through the journey.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has definitely been a little bumpy! In 2016, I found myself in a near death “freak” accident. I was the passenger in a vehicle headed up north. Around dusk, a foot long piece of metal in the road was thrown into the air and into the windshield of the car I was riding in. Subsequently, the piece of metal struck me in the middle of the forehead and knocked me unconscious. While I only spent about a week in the hospital with a fractured skull, I delt with many lingering effects of that evening. Everything from short term memory loss, and constant headaches to a complete loss of my sense of taste and smell. For years I received physical and occupational therapy. Today, I am very proud to say that while that accident slowed me down temporarily, it gave me a different kind of appreciation for life and how fragile it is. It also really allowed me to evaluate how and where I spend my time. Being able to have a career that combines family and helping others could not be a better fit!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
As a team of Mortgage Bankers with 45+ years of experience, my family and I take pride in creating lifelong relationships by dedicating ourselves to our client’s mortgage needs, and providing an education about all of their options. What’s next?
For all the reasons I’ve mentioned above, I plan to continue to grow my relationships in this industry. I treasure the opportunity to do all of this while living my life dream of raising happy children and maintaining a strong home life. I look forward to growing my network because connecting with people in a genuine way is the root of my success!
