Exploring Life & Business with Amy Bizal of Amy Bizal Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Bizal

Hi Amy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
As a devoted mother of three and a wife of 13 years, I have always believed in the importance of balance and self-care amidst the chaos of life. My journey into motherhood, however, was not without its challenges. When I went through my first pregnancy and became a mother, I found the experience to be incredibly difficult. However, yoga was the anchor that helped me navigate this overwhelming transition.

Yoga had always been a part of my life, but it became even more essential during my second pregnancy and birth. It was through consistent practice that I found strength, both physically and emotionally, to face the challenges of motherhood head-on. Yoga not only played a pivotal role in helping me overcome perinatal depression but also contributed to a much quicker and easier birth the second time around.

Inspired by the profound impact yoga had on my journey, I made the decision to pay it forward by becoming a yoga instructor. I am passionate about helping others embrace their own transitions—whether it’s pregnancy, motherhood, or the ups and downs that life inevitably brings. My goal as a yoga instructor is to empower others to find peace and strength within themselves, just as yoga has done for me.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My journey into becoming a yoga teacher came with its fair share of challenges, especially since I began teaching right before the world was hit by the pandemic. I had only spent a few months teaching in a studio when everything shut down in early 2020. The sudden closure of in-person classes left me uncertain about how I could continue to share yoga with others.

I quickly realized that I needed to pivot and find a way to bring yoga into people’s homes. Becoming a virtual instructor was my solution, and though the transition was far from easy, it opened up new opportunities. I found myself teaching to students all across the U.S. and even connecting with people from other countries. While it took time to adapt to a new format and overcome the technical challenges, the rewards were profound.

Through persistence and learning to navigate this new virtual space, I was able to cultivate deep connections with my students, especially the women who joined my classes. These relationships have continued to grow, and I’m grateful to still have meaningful interactions with many of them today. What initially felt like a setback turned into one of the most fulfilling aspects of my teaching journey.

As you know, we’re big fans of Amy Bizal Wellness. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a passionate yoga instructor specializing in prenatal and postnatal yoga, as well as being a certified kid’s yoga instructor. My mission is to bring the transformative power of yoga to every stage of life and make it accessible to everyone, from beginners to seasoned yogis.

My journey as a yoga instructor began in a truly personal way — I completed my yoga teacher training while pregnant with my third baby. This experience not only deepened my love for yoga but also gave me a profound understanding of the needs of expectant mothers. My specialized prenatal and postnatal training allows me to offer modifications and support for all bodies, ensuring that each class can be tailored to individual needs and comfort levels.

In addition to my work with prenatal and postnatal clients, I have a deep passion for introducing children to yoga. I work with daycare centers, teaching kids yoga and sharing essential tools that they can carry with them throughout their lives. It’s incredibly fulfilling to see children develop mindfulness, flexibility, and emotional regulation through yoga practice at such an early age.

One of my core beliefs is that yoga should be accessible to everyone, no matter their experience or background. I aim to create an environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged, offering modifications to ensure that yoga is approachable for all. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned practitioner, my classes are designed to meet you where you are and help you progress at your own pace.

I am also deeply committed to pelvic floor health and integrate this focus into every adult yoga class I teach. Pelvic floor health is often overlooked but is such an important aspect of overall well-being. My goal is to help students develop strength and awareness in this area, improving posture, breath, and core strength while preventing or managing pelvic floor issues.

Whether you’re expecting, a new mom, a child, or just someone looking to improve their yoga practice, I offer a welcoming space where you can thrive and grow. I believe that yoga is for everyone, and I am here to guide you through every step of your journey.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I like best about my city is the small-town community feel. It’s comforting to live in a place where people genuinely care about each other and look out for one another. I also appreciate the diversity here—it’s an amazing opportunity to expose my family to different cultures and perspectives. The variety of cuisines available is another highlight; we’re always discovering new foods to enjoy, and there are so many fun activities to partake in. Whether it’s local events, outdoor adventures, or cultural festivals, there’s always something to do that brings the community together.

However, one thing I don’t like is that sometimes people don’t fully understand what yoga is and the true meaning behind it. It’s often seen just as a form of exercise, but there’s so much more to it—its philosophy, mindfulness, and the way it connects both the body and mind. I wish more people could appreciate its depth and significance
