Hidden Gems: Meet Kallan Klassen of Realm Planning

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kallan Klassen

Hi Kallan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I graduated from UW-Madison having no idea where I wanted to go with my career, but it was after an internship with a wedding planner a year after graduation that I knew! I took this experience and moved to Minneapolis where I worked in a variety of event sales and event planning roles at various venues. In 2020 I gave serious consideration into my passion and talents, and found it was the right fit to begin Realm Planning! Finding my niche within sustainable planning has built an amazing community of vendors and couples around me.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Every event has multiple learning experiences! I wouldn’t be where I am today and have the knowledge of how to handle certain requests or incidents without having lived through it. Other local planners are also a wealth of knowledge – if you haven’t experienced something odds are someone else has!

Lead generation will always be a struggle, as social media has never been my strong suit. Getting yourself in front of as many potential couples is key!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Realm Planning?
Realm Planning donates 5% of the wedding planning fee to a charity of the couples choice. Unwanted floral is also donated to local non profits or nursing homes to give it a second life! Knowing that Realm gives back to the community, both monetarily and time, is important to couples. I love to volunteer and have found that giving back, no matter how small, is what brings purpose to my work.

I offer both partial planning and month of management. Both of these packages include day of coordination. I bring the logistics to wedding planning, while floral/design/catering partners bring the vision to life!

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Brand recognition is key for a small business. The more I can become known in the events industry, whether throughout the state or Minneapolis, the more I can grow! My vision is to hire employees to continue to grow by taking on multiple weddings a day!

Pricing:

  • 1950+ for month of coordination
  • 4450+ for partial planning
  • 120/hour added hourly planning
