Rising Stars: Meet Amuleto of Saint a Paul

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amuleto.

Hi Amuleto, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
This small venture came to mind the day I decided I needed to recycle the necklaces and charms I had at home. At the time, I was also working at a car wash and noticed how often people would throw away accessories they no longer liked. I realized I could help the planet with this idea—and at the same time, earn some extra money for college.

I shared my idea with my mom: to create bag charms and necklaces, since I’ve always loved the world of fashion and the way beautiful accessories can add a special touch to a basic outfit. My mom has always supported me, and she told me she’d help. Together, we went to thrift stores and shops that sold charms and similar items.

Eventually, I had my first market event, alongside SolAmor, my aunt’s brand—she makes beautiful sun catchers. She helped me get my name out there, especially since I had only been living in the United States for two years. I was nervous but brave, and even though I only sold one piece, it was the best thing that could’ve happened. Seeing that someone liked my idea and supported my brand with a simple purchase meant everything.

At my second market, I realized I should never give up. I had way more sales than at the first one, and I learned that if you have a dream, do whatever it takes to make it come true—no matter how or what it takes. Work hard and go for it.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I feel that it hasn’t been a difficult journey, and we’ve overcome each challenge little by little. As small sellers, the main issue is always getting your name out there and selling enough to recover your investment. But if you put passion and a lot of love into your business, you’ll overcome every obstacle.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My job is to recycle necklaces, pieces of jewelry that many people discard because they don’t like it and I turn them into new pieces of necklaces and bagcharms. Our difference between the others is that we try as much as possible to use recycled materials and give them a second chance, looking original and beautiful.

I am proud of what Amulet is and how we can make necklaces and bagcharms with reused pieces, offering a change to the planet and original pieces for your looks!

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I would like in a few years to be able to open my own store with a charm bar, where you can choose the pieces you want in your necklaces and bagcharms. I would love to be able to open this store in my country Venezuela and show the world the Venezuelan talent and where we come from.

Pricing:

  • Necklaces 5$ each
  • Bagcharms 15$ or 20&
  • Totesbags 12$
  • wallets with charms 7$
