Today we’d like to introduce you to Symone Clay and Jamie Grays.
Can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Absolutely! Our journey began with a deep passion for events. We have always been drawn to the idea of creating moments that bring people together. We worked on all kinds of events from corporate gatherings to community celebrations. Over time, we found ourselves especially drawn to weddings. That shift happened naturally. The more we worked with couples, the more we realized how much we valued the personal connection, the storytelling, and the chance to create something that feels intimate and meaningful. Eventually, we decided to focus entirely on weddings, and that’s when The Little Wedding Company really came to life.
We started in 2019 as an officiant and coordinator team, combining our skills to offer couples an option that sits between a courthouse ceremony and a full-scale wedding. Courthouse weddings may be simple and affordable, but they often lack the personality and experience many couples are looking for. On the other end, traditional weddings can be expensive and overwhelming. We created The Little Wedding Company to be the middle ground, offering intimate celebrations that are stylish and stress-free.
Our all-inclusive packages can include the venue, decor, vendors, along with other thoughtful touches that make the planning process easy and the day itself seamless. When the pandemic shifted how people celebrated, our model became even more in demand. Micro weddings proved they were not just a temporary solution but a lasting preference for many couples.
Today, we’re a proud Minnesota-based team helping couples from all walks of life celebrate in a way that feels intentional, relaxed, and truly reflective of their love.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. In the beginning, one of the biggest challenges was simply helping people understand what we do. The idea of an all-inclusive, small-scale wedding was still a foreign concept to many. We had to get creative in how we explained it. One of our go-to phrases became, “It’s like a Vegas-style wedding without the cheesy impersonator.” That usually helped people visualize something fun, fast, and easy, but with real intention and style behind it.
Educating couples, families, and even vendors about this scaled-down approach took time, but it also helped us define our voice and strengthen our brand. Now, we’re seeing more people actively seeking exactly what we offer.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We believe in offering a personalized approach to intimate weddings and elopements. We take the stress out of the process by handling the details, from securing the venue and curating the decor to coordinating with vendors, so couples can focus on what truly matters; celebrating their love. Our all-inclusive packages are designed to give couples a seamless, enjoyable experience without the complexities of traditional wedding planning.
A huge difference with us is that we only host one wedding per day. Unlike pop-up style weddings, where couples share the venue, decor and are given set time slots, sometimes with four to six weddings in a single day, we offer a completely private experience and give each couple our full attention. For those who want a little bit more, we also provide a micro reception that can include extended time, food, DJ, and bar services, creating a celebration that feels both complete and special.
We’re most proud of the impact we’ve made for couples who often felt overlooked by the wedding industry. Whether it’s second marriages, LGBTQ+ couples, or folks who just didn’t feel like the “big wedding” route fit them, we’ve been able to create a space where they feel seen, celebrated, and supported.
What are your plans for the future?
Looking ahead, we’re excited to expand our venue options and continue building strong partnerships with incredible vendors. We’re also exploring the possibility of bringing our concept to other states, making stress-free, beautifully styled weddings accessible to even more couples.
