Looking back, it seems almost inevitable that I would become a model. My mother, Patsy Lee Gereau, embodied elegance and class, designing beautiful clothes for my sister and me, while my father, Guy Gereau, exuded charm, charisma, and athleticism. From the very beginning, I was immersed in both style and strength.
I have vivid memories of running around in a designer dress made by my mother, paired with cowboy boots, a pixie-blonde haircut, and an adventurous spirit—often playing outside with the boys. Fashion, beauty, and self-expression were always part of my life. As I grew, I discovered my natural athleticism, yet I never lost my sense of style and individuality. Moving frequently throughout my childhood only strengthened my commitment to my unique aesthetic, a trait that still defines me today.
My modeling journey began at just eight years old with a two-piece swimsuit show. By then, my blonde hair had grown long, and my athleticism allowed my toned physique to shine on stage. Throughout high school and college, I continued modeling for local designers and participated in prestigious events like Aveda’s The Congress hair shows.
After marrying and moving to New York, I explored modeling in Manhattan. However, life took me back to Minnesota, where I pursued a career in finance—a structured, stable path, yet one that lacked the passion I had for fashion and performance.
Then, one fateful evening changed everything.
After dinner with friends at Rudolph’s restaurant in Minneapolis, I was crossing the street when a drunk driver hit me from behind, launching me 15 feet into the air. The last thing I remember was seeing the headlights. When I woke up in the hospital, my husband was on the phone with his mother, crying. Despite the pain and confusion, my first words were, “Where are my new pumps?”—a moment that reassured him I would be okay.
Recovery was a long journey. For two years, I saw doctors who offered limited guidance between appointments. Then, a realization struck me: Pilates. Having previously taken classes in Manhattan, I knew its benefits—dancers relied on Pilates to maintain strength and recover from injuries. When I proposed this as part of my rehabilitation, doctors dismissed the idea as expensive and ineffective. So, I took matters into my own hands. I studied rigorously, became certified in Mat Pilates, and not only healed myself but went on to train others.
This led me to launch Core Pilates by Christi, where I produced, directed, edited, and hosted my own television show, which reached audiences worldwide. The success of my fitness brand caught the attention of ShopHQ, leading to modeling opportunities for top-tier clients like Suzanne Somers, Bodyblade, NordicTrack, Skinn Cosmetics, and various luxury fashion brands.
From there, the runway called. I began working with local designers before stepping onto the grand stages of New York Fashion Week, Los Angeles Fashion Week, Minnesota Fashion Week, and even international shows in Mexico.
My career—quite literally—took off by accident.
Today, as the fashion industry embraces diversity and experience, my modeling career has soared. Staying athletic, embracing beauty, and continuing to refine my craft have led me to work with some of the most renowned designers, artists, and photographers in the world.
And the journey is far from over.
What’s Next?
I have bold goals.
I intend to become the first mature, non-celebrity, professional model to star in a Chanel campaign. Luxury brands should reflect their true clientele—those with the sophistication, experience, and financial means to invest in them. It’s time for high fashion to celebrate the elegance and power of mature models.
Additionally, I am setting my sights on the cover of Vogue—a milestone that will add to the many magazine covers I have already been honored to grace.
Yes, these are ambitious goals. But someone has to do it. And I believe that with consistency, persistence, confidence, and grace, I can elevate the Christi Gereau brand to represent elegance, power, and beauty on a global scale—helping luxury brands connect with their audience in a meaningful way.
Because, in the end, your brand isn’t just what you do—it’s how you make people feel.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For those who truly know me, they understand that my faith is the foundation of everything I do.
I am more than a conqueror. I am an overcomer. I come from victory. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. These are the mantras I live by—words that guide me through every challenge and triumph.
Life has presented many obstacles, but no person, place, or circumstance can stand in the way of my determination and dreams. Challenges may arise, but I have a visionary mindset—always ready to innovate, adapt, and pivot when needed. Those who know me best can attest to this.
One of the most defining moments of my journey was when Rob and I were involved in a devastating motorcycle accident, airlifted in separate helicopters to Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Despite the severity of that moment, it never once crossed my mind to abandon my passion for modeling. If anything, it strengthened my resolve.
As I always say: I am more than a conqueror. I am an overcomer. I come from victory.
I am excited for what’s ahead—because the best is yet to come.
