Life & Work with Glowingtide of Rochester MN

Today we’d like to introduce you to Glowingtide.

Hi glowingtide , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
glowingtide was formed by members Dean MacKenzie and Jack Liedel out of their high school in Winona MN. Dean later moved to Milwaukee WI for college and they kept the band going despite this. In 2021 Brett Gooden, out of La Crescent, joined the band and it’s been magic ever since.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been especially hard to make the band work while we’ve been subject to various responsibilities and hardships. Brett is a father, and Jack is an aspiring sound engineer and producer. Dean is wrapping up his architectural degree at UW-Milwaukee, and the distance has come with its problems (and benefits).

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Jack is incredibly active with music all over the state of MN. He interns at Carpet Booth Studios in Rochester MN, where he works closely with Zach Zurn, a talented sound engineer, to help fulfill clients’ musical visions. In addition to his sound engineer work, he both performs and records with three different bands (and performs different instruments in each one!)

What matters most to you? Why?
Moving people is what matters most to us. Those who struggle to connect and feel like a part of something have a home with us. We look to bring emotion into the air and get people feeling like people. Our feelings manifest themselves as something simultaneously melancholy, angry, and triumphant. We wish to share this twisted truth with our audience.
