Meet Cassandra Schick of Superior, WI

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassandra Schick.

Hi Cassandra, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Cassandra Schick, I’m a teacher, life-long learner, friend, auntie, driven woman… my list could go on. I started Get Schick Done because I had helped with so many baby showers, weddings, and other get-togethers for friends and family, that I decided to put that passion to the test and follow my gut to become a event planner. When deciding on the name, I had been on the phone with my best friend. She had come up with all of these beautiful and creative names, and I started to laugh. She cautiously said “what do you have in mind?” I then said “Get Schick Done, because I get Schick Done.” She promptly said goodnight and hung up the phone, and that’s where it all started.

Since then I have organized and planned makers markets, weddings, baby showers, a Mardi Gras event, and will be having my second Macabre Masquerade coming up in October of 2025!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been an easy road. Trying to get started was a learning curve, especially with trying to get things going and learn more about the event planning/coordinating business. I tried reaching out to collaborate with other event planners in the area, but did a lot on my own. There also tends to be a few months off where I am not doing much which makes me a little stir crazy and ready for spring to come along. It can also be tough keeping up with things because I am a full time teacher as well, so at different points in the year it’s a little chaotic. I’ve also had some personal loss with loved ones this year, so it’s been making some of the events that I’ve got planned a little more bitter sweet.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an event planner. What does this mean? It means I do what I do best: take your wishes and create a memorable event. My specialty is creating craft and makers markets. I also arrange a vast assortment of different types of events, from fundraisers to business and social engagements. My most favorite events are weddings and themed events. I absolutely loved The Macabre Masquerade, a Halloween centered ball.

I am unique in the fact that I like to take the stress out of your events to help you focus on the day and not the behind the scenes things. I strive to help make your dreams into a reality, and help to bring unique events to the Northland.

What matters most to you? Why?
Building a sense of community and bringing people together. The world is too negative now-adays, so I want to help bring community based events that celebrate each and everyone of us. I also love to take on projects and help put a unique spin on them. Events should be about celebration, and be memorable, not stressful and negative.
