Hi Lillian, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Chiropractic care has always been personal for me. As a Hmong-Vietnamese American, I was raised in a multi-generational household where healing was part of our every day life. I watched my grandparents use traditional Hmong remedies, and even as a child, I was fascinated by the way they cared for others. But it was my dad, Dr. Jer Lee, who truly inspired me. Growing up, I watched him care for patients with so much compassion and purpose. I didn’t realize it then, but those early moments shaped the path I’m on today.
As I got older, I began to truly understand the impact of his work. Not just on individuals, but on entire families and communities. That’s when I knew I wanted to follow in his footsteps, but also create my own path, especially serving people in underrepresented communities like the one I came from.
After experiencing my own pain and healing through chiropractic, it all clicked. It wasn’t just about cracking bones-it was about listening, understanding, and helping someone feel whole again. I knew that I wanted to be someone who can help people feel better in their bodies and in their lives.
Today, I am the owner of Elite Care Chiropractic, with locations in East Saint Paul and Brooklyn Center. Every day I get to do what I love-helping people heal, feel seen, and take control of their health. And as a mom of three girls, it means everything to show them what it looks like to lead with purpose, heart, and resilience.
My journey started with family, and I’m proud to be carrying that legacy forward while writing my own chapter in this incredible profession.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey to becoming a chiropractor wasn’t always the smoothest road. Balancing a demanding program with the obstacles that life threw at me, tested me in every way, especially after I experienced a loss in my family. There were plenty of moments where I questioned myself whether I could really get through it.
When I got into practice, being a woman in a predominantly male-dominated field also came with its own set of pressures. I constantly felt like I had to prove myself. And even with the support that I had, stepping into practice meant I had to earn the trust of my community and show them the kind of care I was capable of providing.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Elite Care Chiropractic P.A.?
At Elite Care Chiropractic, I integrate chiropractic care with modern clinical practices to provide effective, personalized treatment for each patient. I also provide acupuncture and DOT physical exams, allowing me to service a wide range of patients with different needs.
My focus is on treating both acute and chronic pain whether it’s from a car accident, a work-related injury, or long-standing discomfort that’s been affecting someone’s daily life. What sets my practice apart from others is the way I care for the whole person, not just the symptoms. I take time to listen, to understand my patients’ lifestyles and stressors, and to tailor care that truly supports their long term wellness.
As a woman of color, I bring a different level of understanding and empathy to my work. I know what it’s like to not always feel seen in healthcare spaces, and that’s why it matters so much to me that my patients feel comfortable, respected, and understood.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was a mix of opposites. I was very shy and didn’t always feel confident speaking up-but at the same time, I had a lot of friends and loved being around people.
