Today we’d like to introduce you to Anastasiya Beusarev.
Hi Anastasiya, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Three years ago, my husband Ryan and I founded Fitness Formula with a clear mission: Be healthy. Be strong. Feel good. After years of working in corporate gyms, we saw how impersonal and rigid the fitness industry could be. We wanted to create a space where personal training was truly personalized, accessible, supportive, and rooted in real relationships.
For me, this journey started long before opening our own studio. I was first inspired to become a personal trainer because of the impact personal training had on my own life. Through working with a trainer, I lost weight, gained strength, fixed my gut issues, stopped needing anxiety medication, and became a happier version of myself. That experience showed me how powerful fitness can be when it’s done the right way, and it’s the heart of what drives me to help others now.
We started in a small, single-room studio focused on one-on-one training. As our client base grew, so did our vision. In 2024, we brought on our friend, Sam Lilja, as a partner and moved into a larger space with a Pilates studio, cardio room, stretching and recovery area, and a fully outfitted training floor. In 2025, we expanded our team again, welcoming Brenna O’Gara as a trainer.
Today, we offer the most customizable and comprehensive training experience in the area. Between the four of us, we support clients through body transformations, strength training, performance training, pain reduction, working with physical therapists to rehab injuries, postpartum recovery, menopause management, hypermobility management, working with medical providers to improve health markers, and more.
Our approach is holistic. We don’t believe in quick fixes or trendy diets. We believe in helping clients build sustainable habits that support their long-term health. A big part of that is education and giving people the tools, knowledge, and confidence to take control of their own well-being.
Fitness Formula isn’t just about working out. It’s about creating a lifestyle that allows you to feel your best physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like most small businesses, we’ve had our share of obstacles. Finding the right space has been one of the biggest challenges. At one point, we had to pivot quickly after learning that the location we planned to move into wasn’t properly zoned. Getting the word out about what makes Fitness Formula different has taken time too. We’ve built everything intentionally, saving up for each new piece of equipment and learning how to run a business while continuing to grow as trainers. It’s been a balancing act; managing client care, keeping up with the latest research, and wearing all the hats that come with ownership. Every step has helped shape who we are and we are so thankful to be here!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Fitness Formula?
At Fitness Formula, everything we do centers around personalization. We don’t offer cookie-cutter programs or generic classes. Instead, we take the time to understand each client’s goals, limitations, lifestyle, and history so we can create a plan that truly fits. Whether someone is recovering from an injury, navigating postpartum, managing chronic pain, training for a performance goal, or simply trying to feel better in their body, we’re here to guide and support them every step of the way.
What sets us apart is the depth of customization, the breadth of our expertise, and the environment we’ve created. All of our trainers are certified nutrition coaches, so we’re able to provide nutrition support as part of every session, helping clients build sustainable habits around food as well as movement. Our studio is also a private space, which makes a big difference for many of our clients. Unlike a traditional gym setting, there’s no pressure, no audience, and no distractions. Just a supportive, judgment-free environment where people can feel comfortable focusing on their goals.
We specialize in areas that are often overlooked in typical fitness settings, including hypermobility, menopause, postpartum recovery, and pain management. We also collaborate with physical therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, and medical providers to ensure our clients receive well-rounded, informed care that supports their progress from every angle. As a team, we’re committed to continuing education and staying up to date with the latest research so our methods are always rooted in science and best practices.
One of the things we’re most proud of is the trust our clients place in us. The progress we see is not just physical: It’s mental, emotional, and often life-changing. Our brand stands for integrity, education, and a whole-person approach to wellness. We don’t believe in quick fixes. We believe in helping people create a lifestyle that supports their long-term health and happiness.
Fitness Formula is more than a gym. It’s a space where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to take control of their health in a way that truly lasts.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My biggest piece of advice for anyone just starting their health and fitness journey is to look at it as a marathon, not a sprint. Real, lasting change takes time. One of the most common questions I hear is, “When will I start seeing results?” I usually tell clients that they’ll start noticing small changes in the first one to three months, but if they stay consistent, a year from now they’ll be amazed by how far they’ve come.
Consistency is everything, but it doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Life happens. Maybe you’re going through a tough season and working out five times a week just isn’t realistic. That’s okay. Commit to twice a week for 30 minutes. Do what you can do. Even small efforts add up over time, and when you’re ready to do more, you won’t be starting over. You’ll be building from a solid foundation.
It also helps to find a way of moving that you genuinely enjoy. Movement shouldn’t feel like punishment. It should be something that supports your life and brings you energy. Staying curious and keeping yourself educated can help, too. The more you understand your body and how it works, the more empowered you’ll feel to take care of it.
Trust the process, stay consistent, and give yourself grace along the way. That’s where the magic happens.
