Conversations with Echo Bodine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Echo Bodine.

Hi Echo, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
When I was 17 we had a very unusual experience in my family. One of my brothers saw a spirit in our house that led my mom to call a psychic. We wanted to know what this was about. Why us? This was 1965 and back then you had to know someone that had been to a psychic in order to find one. It was pretty hush hush back then. One of the women in mom’s prayer group casually mentioned that she had been to one so mom gave her a call and got the psychics name and number.. We were pretty nervous but gave her a call and she was a very sweet lady from England who told mom this happened for a very important reason and she needed to see mom and her oldest daughter (me) for a psychic reading.

We couldn’t imagine going to see her, but we set up an appt. and the night we went changed our lives. Mrs. Olson told me that I would be a famous psychic one day and eventually teach others how to develop their gifts. She said I would write books, be on radio and tv, travel around the world giving lectures and that I was born with the gift of healing as well.

It’s a very long story between then and now. I have written twelve books, been on tv, radio, podcasts, webinars etc. My life turned out just as she said it would.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Smooth ride? Mom and I took classes to develop our gifts. There was so much to learn about being psychic and how to control and manage it. The biggest draw back was societies idea’s of psychics. Mom and I were very normal people. Both introverts. When Mrs. Olson said I would travel and teach people about their spiritual gifts, I couldn’t imagine it. The thought of standing in front of people totally freaked me out. The good news is that it all took place over time. It did not happen over night.
One big issue for me was telling people. I went to college for a couple of years and had “normal” jobs. My abilities continued to grow. I had a lot to learn about the gift of healing. In 1985 I wrote my first book, Hands That Heal.
In 1979 I quit Barbering and became a full time psychic and laying on hands healer. Those were some pretty rough times. Society still thought psychics were bad, worked for the devil. That kind of thing. Religous people were always trying to get me to “stop my foolishness, see the light”. I was always asking God for a sign that I was on the right track and would always get some kind of sign out of the blue that I was right where I was meant to be.
I had to grow a tougher skin so to speak and not let others sway me from my path.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Here I am, sixty years later still doing psychic readings, teaching others how to develop their gifts. I mainly teach people how to live intuitively. I have a website, Echobodine.com. I have a 5100 sq. ft. teaching center in Richfield Minnesota. I have traveled all over the country teaching psychic development, the gift of healing, living intuitively and ghosts. I teach and have written about death. I’m known for being a normal down to earth person who has these abilities.
Lifetime was going to do a story of my life and Farrah Fawcett was going to play me. Shortly after we met in L.A. she found out she had cancer and died shortly afterwards. .
I teach for Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E Foundation. I worked at the Health club in Malibu doing healings and readings and met my most favorite movie star.
I’ve had my own tv show online called Enough is Enough with Bold Brave TV for close to 2 years.
I’ve auditioned for at least 12 shows over the years.
I have written 12 books.
It’s been quite a ride and looking back I am grateful for all of it.
I have a program called the Healing Pen Pal program. People write to me for healing and we assign a healer to them that sends healing energy twice a day for two weeks. It’s a very successful program and known throughout the world.
I hope I’m not coming across as a braggart. I’m trying to remember all the cool things I’ve experienced and this is probably only half of them. I’ve been on tv, radio and podcasts many many times.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
My normalness. I don’t try to come across as a spooky psychic. This is what people tell me. I’m pretty down to earth.
