Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassie Wilder.
Hi Cassie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always wanted to be a doctor ever since I was little. During undergrad, I had an incredible opportunity to take a closer look at conventional medicine. That experience opened my eyes and made me realize that the way conventional medicine is often practiced didn’t align with how I wanted to care for patients.
That’s what led me to naturopathic medicine. It felt like a better fit for how I wanted to approach healing, seeing patients as whole people, finding patterns in their symptoms, and getting to the root cause. I wanted to talk to them about things like diet, sleep, stress, mental health, and give them recommendations with a wider toolbox. One that included both standard treatments like prescription medications and natural therapies like herbs, supplements, and IV nutrition, and to give patients the autonomy to choose what felt right for them.
After graduating, I moved back to Minnesota and quickly saw that there weren’t many clinics offering the kind of integrative care I was passionate about. I’ve never seen integrative medicine as alternative. To me, it’s how medicine should be practiced. So I started my own clinic, and over the past eight years, I’ve grown it into one of the largest integrative medicine clinics in the Twin Cities.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, the road has definitely not been smooth. My parents are not entrepreneurs, and I don’t have a business background. I went to school to be a doctor. I love medicine, patient care, and helping people — but I quickly realized that in order to do that well, I had to build a business that could actually sustain itself.
One of the biggest challenges has been finding other practitioners who approach care the way I do and who can perform at the level I expect. Finding aligned team members has not always been easy.
Another major challenge was navigating a healthcare business through COVID. It was scary, not just from a financial standpoint, but also from a patient care perspective. We were treating people who were anxious, overwhelmed, and often symptomatic. At the same time, we were trying to operate in an environment that felt completely uncertain, both medically and as a business.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Minneapolis Integrative Medicine Center?
We are known for being health detectives and really strong diagnosticians. We take time, think critically, and ask deeper questions, not just to treat surface level symptoms or even surface level diagnoses, but to really understand why something is happening in the first place.
That is what sets us apart. These days, so many people are searching for answers about their health and not getting the support they need from the conventional medical system. As a result, they often end up turning to influencers or health adjacent content that may not be grounded in real science. Our goal is to bring them back into a form of modern medicine that is evidence based and science based, while also offering personalized therapeutic options that align with their goals and values.
Brand wise, I am most proud of the experience we provide our patients. The real magic in healthcare is not just expert level care, but the relationship you build with patients. Listening, validating their concerns, and making sure they feel truly heard and taken care of, that is just as important as the treatment plan itself. We want our patients to feel like someone genuinely has their back, and that they have a trusted partner in their health.
As for our services, we care for a wide range of patients and conditions. We see everything from pediatrics to adults, including women’s and men’s health, and more complex cases like MCAS, mold toxicity, environmental exposures, ADHD, and even cancer. We are equipped to take care of diverse populations with a high level of expertise and heart.
