Hi Tammy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I spent my entire career in the international supply chain. I started back in 1998 and grew up within the business. I have had a very wonderful career and my last role was Vice President of The Americas with a fortune 250 company, CH Robinson, where I lead operations, sales and compliance with a team of over 3,000 employees. Supply chain really got a lot of attention during covid when all eyes were on the challenges that the pandemic brought with supply and demand. It is a high energy, high demand job and was challenging for me personally to have that work/life balance. I left corporate back in 2022 and decided I did not want to step back into that life, which was really all I knew. I decided I wanted to franchise and this is how I found SP. It answered all the things I knew I needed from a franchise. After seeing the New York studio, I knew it would be a great fit for Minnesota. I reached out, got connected with the head office franchise team, met Jade and the leadership team at SP and here I am!
From my business background, I know you want to find something that is unique in the space. I know I wanted to franchise, but it had to be the right fit for me. A brand that is up and coming, brings value and support to the franchisees, brings something new to the community and something I am passionate about. I actually had 2 hip replacements and my PT wanted me to continue with Pilates. It was very challenging to find the right studio, hard to get into classes and never felt like the right space. I stumbled upon SP while looking for franchise opportunities and was intrigued. I flew out to New York and met with Marissa (owner of SP South Slope and SP Cobble Hill in Brooklyn), took a class and fell in love with the brand! I feel like SP is a perfect match and the support and guidance that you get is unbelievable.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I love this job! It is so rewarding and enjoyable.
My studio manager, Grace, is amazing and she is out on maternity leave with her first child. I am so excited for her, but miss her very much!
There really have not been any struggles as the franchise ensures that we are well informed every step of the way.
I would say for me the most challenging part is ensuring I am staying on top of everything and that my team is well informed and feels supported.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Every Sunday we use to go to my Grandparents house for a lunch after church. It was just something we always did and I did not realize the significance of it until I was older. We had Aunts, Uncles, cousins, a group of anywhere between 7-20 at all times. There was swimming, kick-ball, board games, something fun happening at all times. Something that I will remember and cherish always!
