Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Jasmin.
Sabrina, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It wasn’t until my senior year of high school that I picked up a camera for the first time in my Yearbook class. After a semester of running around my hallways, taking photos of all of my friends, my life changed and I decided to pursue it further. I studied Photography at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where I fell in love with portraiture. I’ve been documenting people across the Midwest in North Dakota, Minnesota, and Colorado since. My style has evolved from hyper-stylized fashion photography to a more candid approach, but light has always been a constant inspiration for my work. I’ve been working independently for four years now.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Working as a freelancer is definitely the most challenging job I’ve ever had, but also the most rewarding. Sometimes there’s a drought, and sometimes it pours. When people trust and invest in me, that’s the best.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As an Independent Photographer, I specialize in Portraiture. Nothing makes me happier than when my subject tells me they feel comfortable and truly seen. I think my biggest strong suit is that I can connect with people in a way that allows them to fully relax, and ultimately feel more confident when the photoshoot is over. I love to capture people’s truest personalities and I think that’s what makes my work stand out.
